Our lessons and courses for all licence categories are built around supervised one to one tuition with qualified instructors. They observe every aspect of the candidates driving technique and develop their skill set accordingly. Training will be carried out on local test routes, together with manoeuvring / uncouple & re-coupling exercises at our local facilities to ensure candidates receive all the necessary training to prepare them for test.

Services
We have a purpose built training facility with an onsite reversing area which is exactly the same specification as the DVSA test centre, ensuring that you are fully familiar with the set up and manoeuvres required by you when you come to take your test. Going back into towing? Then our refresher course maybe more suitable for you.
Category C1 is the licence group required to drive a van between 3,500 and 7,500kg. We offer a range of services depending on individual requirements and have developed a starter pack for candidates that would like us to manage and support them through the process. We start a course by booking a medical (if required) at our GP so its less hassle for yourself.
Category C1+ E is the licence group required for a van between 3,500 and 7,500kg with a trailer over 750kgs. Candidates must already hold a C1 or C licence in order take this test. Practical training is based around individual requirements so an assessment drive would help plan a course to meet individual needs.
Category C is the licence group required for a rigid LGV vehicle over 7.5 tonnes in weight. This course is usually taken by candidates looking for a career in the general road haulage industry. In our training course you will learn road safety, general highway code andreversing manoeuvres. We've put together a handy list of the average cost of completing your Cat C course, both with and without CPC Training.
Category C+E is the licence group required to drive a CAT C vehicle with a trailer over 750kgs. This vehicle is also known as an Artic or Class 1. Training with CITY you have a choice of drawbar (wagon & drag) or full Artic combinations for you to choose from. This step will have already been completed in order to have obtained your Category C licence.

If you are reading this review and considering booking on with City Driver Training then all I can say is don’t hesitate! It will be the best thing you ever did. Not only will they train you to be a competent, safe HGV driver they will also be your therapist and friend. They will adapt their training to your specific needs and they will do everything in their power to make sure you pass. I honestly can’t thank them all enough! Nath, Martin, Matt, Craig, Paul and the office girls you really are the best.

Really good training company. I went from car to Artic in 5 days, trained by Damian. Everyone there is polite and stops and takes the time to explain everything in detail and pass ok as much as they can. Good on price. Couldn't recommend more. Get started with them if you are thinking about lorry or any other additional licence categories. You are likely to be successful.

The full team on hand to help me through my class 2 pass! Everyone so full of life and positive.
Paul who was my instructor throughout the 4 days pulled apart every little bad habit I had and made them into good habits. Used a lot of good ways to explain how to remember certain parts of the training. Best of all they all listen to whatever issues or where you think you’re struggling.
Passed first time with 2 minors.
Will forever only ever recommend city driver training.
