With over 8 years hands on experience I have worked with many different breeds and temperaments and am always ready to take on a challenge. I pride myself in being able to build bonds with dogs, particularly those with a nervous or aggressive nature. Being the owner of a rescue Saluki and retired guide dog, I know it is important to provide animals with time and patience, making the grooming process fun and enjoyable for all those involved.
All dogs, regardless of age, breed or size should be groomed regularly. Grooming is not just part of a cleaning and styling process but helps to keep your pet healthy and happy. Our brush-out service is mainly for long-haired breeds that may need some attention between grooms or for short or double coated breeds who maybe moulting more than usual, to keep on top of the dead coat and decrease the amount of hair being shed at home.
At Collar and Comb Grooming we strive to bring you value for money and complete satisfaction. We believe our starting prices are very competitive and we will consult with you before any service to ensure you have no unexpected costs when you collect your pet. We will only add a surcharge for anxious dogs if their behaviour means we must devote significant extra time to them.
We will never force an animal to do anything that is clearly making it anxious. However, be assured that Sam has considerable experience working with nervous dogs and will do all she can to make our guests calm and happy. Your pet will only be restrained or placed in one of our dog lounges if we feel it will come to harm or cause harm to other guests or members of our team.
It is important that your pet is healthy. For this reason, during any treatment involving bathing or drying of dogs, all dogs will be given a full health check and you will be provided with a written summary informing you of any problems. Breeds with facial skin folds such as Pugs and Shar Peis will be given a check and clean between any skin folds to prevent inflammation and infection of the skin.
