The nursery lies in a little village called Fordham, which is in between Ely and Newmarket in Cambridgeshire. You may be familiar with the historic town of Newmarket which is synonymous with horse racing. As you can see from the photo above, we are in a very close proximity to the race course.
Their focus was on growing as much stock themselves as possible to ensure that the products were of the highest quality; from that the business earned a great reputation locally which allowed them to gradually expand. From as early as I can remember I was out on the tree lines with my dad watching him skilfully prune trees and plants, as you can see from the photo I even had a go myself!

Ornamental trees are a wide-ranging and highly diverse collection of trees, and they are broadly defined as trees that do not have the primary purpose of bearing fruit. In fact, ornamental trees are so wide-ranging that the exact number of species is not known, but it is estimated that there are over 100,000 different species of non-fruiting trees.
If you want unusual foliage, the 'Red Robin' is the perfect choice. The elliptic leaves are finely serrated at their margins and fresh foliage shoots through as a brilliant red colour. The leaves mature to a dark green, but as new foliage continues to emerge red you get a real contrast of colours over the spring period.
The Flowering Crab Apples are deservedly one of the most popular ornamental trees to be found in our gardens. The flowering season is April and May when glorious pink and white blossom is produced. Many varieties have the added bonus of attractive, edible fruits in the autumn. With few exceptions they are easy to cultivate, small to medium sized trees that will thrive in a sunny position in well drained soil.
Betula trees or birch trees are deservedly some of the most popular types of trees that we sell. The bark is so varied within the species that its colours range from a rich mahogany, to a pure white, to a peeling golden brown. Aside from the ornamental bark, birch trees hold a distinctly elegant form - often with open canopies - some upright and tall, yet others pendant and arching.
Oak trees are from the beech family and they are native to both the temperate and tropic regions of the Northern Hemisphere. This genus has both deciduous and evergreen trees within it and a wide variety of leaf types. There are around 600 species within the Quercus genus, and a large proportion of these are native to North America.

VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I placed an order with this company for a tree that was in stock in the middle of August, and four weeks later I am still waiting. Numerous emails and phone messages requesting an update have been ignored so I have cancelled my order. In spite of their supposed staffing issues they don't seem to be having any trouble taking people's money, which just shows a complete lack of respect for their customers.

Sorbus Aucuparia received 25/08/2021. I am delighted with our 4x 12L Sorbus Aucuparia from Mail Order Trees. All the same height and excellent quality and condition. Received within the advised 10 to 14 days time frame. We are so pleased that we ordered another one. They will look perfect lined up along the back fence of our newly renovated garden 💕 Thank you Mail Order Trees for excellent service, quality and value for money!

Ordered a tree for my parents from abroad. See pictures for how the box arrived, and for broken branches on the tree that arrived. While it's true that mistakes happen and this tree will probably recover, it's a shame that the response from the company was essentially to say that's too bad, and not offer to replace the tree, or offer a partial refund, etc.
