Just returned today from a fab week at Briarcroft. The lodge is in a beautiful setting and really well equipped, what a pleasure it was to not spend the first few hours cleaning as it was spotless. Hubby reports the ponds are well stocked with carp, roach, perch, bream and others. Many thanks to Sarah, Miles and Miles' mum who couldn't have done anymore to accommodate us. Give yourselves a pat on the back, we'll definitely book again lol if it's ever vacant. Many thanks lynn and martin Hughes

We stayed here in September 2019. The wooden lodge was clean, spacious and well equipped. It is right next to the smaller of the two lakes and one peg is reserved for cabin guests, although fishing anywhere on the two lakes is permitted.
The lakes are only open to cabin guests and a small fishing syndicate, with no day tickets, and I found the syndicate members very friendly and helpful. Both lakes had loads of fish and I thoroughly enjoyed my fishing throughout the week.
There is a pub, The Grapes, 5 minutes walk away which serves excellent food and The Horns at Churchtown 2 miles down the road
