Puro
PURO Restaurant & Bar is a modern venue for relaxed, yet sophisticated, eating and drinking. All our food is fresh, with a focus on well sourced ingredients, providing simple but quality, seasonal food. In addition to the food menu is a carefully selected wine list (with many by the glass) and a diverse range of spirits and cocktails, all of which can be enjoyed alone or alongside dinner or a light bite in the comfort of our intimate setting.

Our aim is to be a warm, social venue for people to get together, as well as offering the perfect place for that special occasion. We also offer PURO out for private hire, with a capacity of 40 people for dining and up to 60 for drinks only.
Services
Following an initial refurbishment (and name change) the couple have continued to put their own stamp on the restaurant, turning it into the modern, comfortable, stylish venue they are proud to call Puro. We felt there was a gap in the market in this area for a bistro style bar/restaurant serving modern British food.
The majority of artwork on display at Puro are select pieces by artist Prudence Maltby, from an exhibition she co-curated and founded entitled Cicatrix. Prudence Maltby is an award winning artist and curator. Born in Sussex, Prudence Maltby's family immigrated to Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) when she was a small child.
They specialise in procuring and supplying the very finest produce. They have an eclectic range of Fresh Fruit, Vegetables, Exotic Produce and a stunning range of Fine Foods and Dairy products. Averys is a Bristol based wine supplier who began in 1793 and over the years, the family has built its reputation as one of the UK's most pioneering wine merchants.

I like puro bar, opposite Mary's bar/ restaurant, smart modern interior, good selection of drinks, friendly bar staff, some nights it's busy, and some noone seems to be there. The restaurant is downstairs, maybe they should do some snack food here.

My partner has recently had too many bad food experiences as a vegetarian.
Her options not usually up to scratch. But she ate the lot
Lovely food and wine.

Fantastic food from a varied and tempting menu. The service was great, attentive and friendly. We started off with a few glasses of wine in the bar upstairs. We’ll be back for sure.

My partner and I had the worst meal we have both had in many years. Totally tasteless soup to start, although the bread was nice. Followed by a very small Cornish Sole with 6 new potatoes a couple of over cooked springs of samphire and 2 boiled spring onions and a lot of oil. Fortunately our guest enjoyed his meal but it was nothing special . A very few drinks, not wine and a bottle of water priced at £3.50.
WE WILL NOT BE GOING AGAIN AND CANNOT RECOMMEND IT FELT SORRY FOR THE WAITRESS. Total cost for 3 with a tip £117.00.

I’ve been twice so far and the food has been excellent on each occasion. The vegetarian tasting menu evening was amazing, each dish was both beautifully presented and the flavours were fantastic. Will be visiting again soon.

Came here for a Sunday lunch and was able to book in the morning. There was a special lunch menu which was mainly ‘roast’ oriented, but I wanted something else after Xmas overload, so selected the fish - sole. We had a scallop starter between us then my main and pulled pork for my wife plus a couple of glasses of wine.
The starter was nice - but only 2 scallops on the plate. My fish was a small and overdone and the pork was okay but nothing special and the vegetables were very good. The whole meal came to just under £80 and so since it was quite expensive and not brilliant I can only give

Deserves to be busier. Well judged and balanced menu in this simple but stylish restaurant. I had the excellent scallops to start and porchette with Anna potatoes, and my partner tenderstem to open and a beautifully cooked sea bream. An outstanding proper chocolate fondant topped of a really pleasant meal.
Good, friendly but not intrusive service.
