We can offer our guests at The Lion Hotel Llanbister the choice of four comfortable rooms, three of which are shower en-suite, ideal for short breaks in Mid-Wales. Elystan is decorated in Victorian Reds and is mainly used as a double room but it is possible to fit in another bed for a child or to convert the room to a twin.
The Lion Hotel restaurant is the only one in the village of Llanbister serving pub classics from Sausage and chips to Lasagna etc. We can also offer vegetarian and gluten free options. Our curries are very popular and are all home made from authentic curry recipes. We liked the friendly owners, nothing was too much trouble for them.
As well as being situated in the centre of Wales and offering good accommodation and food, The Lion Hotel is an excellent bed and breakfast choice for a Mid Wales holiday or short break. There is something for everybody whether you want an active or relaxing holiday. Visitors can enjoy our beautiful Mid Wales countryside on horses, bikes or on foot.
At the Lion Hotel we aim to and confidently ensure that all our guests have comfortable facilities, all requests are dealt with efficiently and all guests are made to feel welcomed throughout their stay. The dinning room is also on the ground floor it is small but quite spacious. A member of staff can read the menu if required.
At the Lion Hotel we are committed to running our business in a sustainable green manner, trying to minimise the environmental, economic and social impacts to ensure that Mid Wales is kept the way it is for the future. Hearty breakfasts and home made evening meals are offered at the Lion Hotel, made using locally sourced ingredients.

I very much enjoyed my stay, beds were comfortable, dogs made themselves at home, the views were to die for and the food was incredible! One thing that was exceptional was the curry!! They definitely lived up to all the amazing reviews, and safe to say after travelling to India myself (as do they every year) their love for Indian food was definitely what made the place so special! Best curry I’ve ever eaten!
Will definitely return for another visit, as there is a lot more exploring to be done!

A few friends and I stayed here for a long weekend as we were attending a wedding nearby. We had a fantastic stay, much of it due to Janet and Ray's hospitality which was impeccable. We all enjoyed Ray's tales as well as his encyclopaedic knowledge of the area, it's history and the community. I'm all really looking forward to visiting again for our promised 'hysterical' tour and a spot of clay pigeon shooting.

Nice country hotel, a little of the old world style. But very welcoming. Rooms are large. Owners are friendly. It has everything you need without modern day faff. Good sized car park. We were able to park our bikes under the glass canopy/awning, directly under our window. The room was a good size and comfortable. My only grumble was the shower was a little to small for me. Meals where nice and plentiful. Very reasonably. Definitely will use again. Lovely views and easily accessible.
