Pathways Holiday Cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the historic buildings, pretty villages and the beautiful scenery of Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire on the edge of the Peak District national park. This charming stone built cottage dates back to 1703 and has retained many of the original features throughout.
Beautifully decorated, Pathways Cottage is a real gem in the wonderful village location of Old Higham in Derbyshire. Offering a cosy living room with two wood burning stoves, a large kitchen/dining room with crackling wood burner and a wonderful range to cook on, through to a conservatory to relax in whilst looking out onto the cottage garden.

I frequently rent holiday cottages, but this was so much more than that. Our friends booked this as a wedding gift for us to enjoy with them, and we didn't just enjoy it, we totally fell in love with the place.
From the moment you walk through the door, this place envelopes you in warmth and comfort, like your favourite snuggle blanket.
Let's start with the lounge with the huge, deep, super comfy sofas, the roaring log fire and low lighting, with snuggle blankets a plenty. Relaxing with a glass of wine, I felt like I had died and gone to heaven.
The kitchen was huge, with country dining table

A real home from home for a comfortable stay in a generous sized house. Stylishly furnished big bedrooms, farmhouse kitchen and bathroom join with a cosy lounge, conservatory and patio garden in making Pathways a great place to stay. Two dog friendly local pubs and shops in nearby Alfreton and Clay Cross.

The owners have done a great job with this lovely cottage, with great attention to detail. In particular the bathroom and kitchen are stunning, spacious and well equipped. We slept comfortably and felt very at home here. We visited Crick tramway village, Mount Cook adventure Centre and Matlock farm park, all within easy reach. We visited with 2 young children and found the big Tesco nearby very useful. The locals were also very friendly. The road that the cottage is on is relatively busy but this didn’t bother us too much as were used to it at home but this is the only minor drawback I could
