Learner driver insurance helps you get extra driving practice in your own car, or in a friend or family member's car, completely legally, without risking their No Claims Bonus. With Collingwood annual provisional car insurance, you can drive your own, a family member or friend's car for up to 12 months, which could be enough time to learn to drive and pass your practical driving test. Costing from as little as 64p** per day, and without risking the car owner's No Claims Bonus*, learner insurance for the year could boost your skills and confidence.
What can my named additional driver use the car for under the Collingwood Learner Driver policy?. If Collingwood Insurance has agreed to additional driver cover, then the named driver would enjoy Social, Domestic and Pleasure use only. Commuting/business use is excluded. Providing you are the owner of the insured vehicle, you may add a Parent or Husband/Wife, to your policy.
With cover available from 28 days and the ability to top up from just 7 days, you only pay for what you need. With Collingwood's Short Term learner insurance, you can insure your own car against theft or damage whilst learning to drive. If you don't own your own car, Collingwood can also cover you to drive someone else's car with no risk to their no-claims discount.
We will email you to request copies of your driving licence. The Plastic card provides information on the cardholder i.e. name, date of birth and the address recorded with the DVLA.

Avoid at all costs!!! Took out a leaner driver car insurance policy for my daughter in April 2021 she passed her test on December 2021. When she passed was told to call to cancel the insurance as it will no longer be for a leaner driver. We was unable to contact Collingwood as it was over the Christmas period and have a very pleased 17 yr old so I decided to look around for insurance and happily got her a policy with another company. The agreement was to cancel with collingwood and they would find her a new policy as she didn’t want to wait I did the cancellation online as I was told in a previous

I would advise people very look elsewhere for insurance. Took a learner policy for our daughter which on the face of it seems like a good deal until you come to cancel the policy which you have to do once they pass a test as unlike other insurers there is no option to convert to a standard policy (even for an additional fee). This is where all the additional charges come in. Wasn't expecting anything back after cancelling at 8 months but to be told we owe them more money to cancel 4 months from the end was a shock. Would have been far cheaper to just let the policy lapse. If you're still determined

Do not get learner driver insurance from these the policy is a scam there is no cooling off period just a 70 pound broker fee if you cancel . Read all the small print as the policy is so confusing and very limited. Stay clear and use a proper insurance company for your car. Paid £92 cancelled after 3 days and received £22 back. Warning do not buy.

This company cancelled my daughter's learner driver policy because in the space of four days they attempted to collect the monthly fee on three separate occasions and due to me having been issued with a new debit card by my bank, they still held the old card details. I was in Greece for a four day break which coincided so had not checked my emails. We had never missed a payment prior to this. We also later then received a letter of cancellation along with another letter saying they wouldn't insure her again!! all because I had a new debit card!!

Got a policy for our learner daughter to practice in her own car. Love the fact that a young policy holder can name a family member to deal with the insurers and the policy if necessary. Tried doing it online but there was a glitch. Spoke to Sophie over the phone and she was great. She took us through everything step by step and we are now off to pick up the car! Thank you Sophie.
