Services
Osteopathy is a healthcare system that lays emphasis on all structural and mechanical elements of the body. The bones, muscles and joints together are known as the musculo-skeletal system, and osteopaths are primarily concerned with how this system can function at an optimal pain free level.
Osteopathy is regulated by statute under the Osteopaths act of 1993, this means that by law only people registered with the General Osteopathic council are allowed to call themselves Osteopaths. The General osteopathic council ensures that UK osteopaths are subject to a clear structure of training and supervision.

Many people tell us that they didn't know what to expect when they booked their appointment, we hope that this section will answer some of your questions. On your first visit you will see Tom or Nina, you can book with either of us and you will know beforehand who your appointment is with.
At the beginning of the appointment we will take a detailed case history, we will ask about your symptoms, what brought you to see us, your past and current medical conditions. After the case history we might ask you to do some movements so that we can assess the range and quality of motion in your joints and soft tissues and look at your general postural pattern.

We are often asked this question, it's one of the hardest and yet easiest to answer. Our general response is that every patient is different and as such predicting how fast an individual will get better is not an exact science and can rely on many factors, but normally by treatment number two a fairly accurate plan of treatment can be provided.
If you have not booked online before then you will need to register (you'll only need to do this once). If you have seen us before then please book a "follow up" appointment, but if it's your first time seeing us then please book an "Initial assessment".
Due to a limitation in the system if you would like an appointment with Nina please book it with Tom and email us at info@birchhouseosteopaths.com to let us know that you want to see Nina (if you are a regular patient with Nina we will usually notice this).Cancellation policy: we kindly ask you to provide us with aminimum of 24 hours notice if you can not attend an appointment, anything less than that will incure a late cancellation fee of 25.

Since I’ve been tied to an uncomfortable desk during lockdown have experienced an extreme discomfort/pain through lower back and into tops of shoulders. Have visited Birch House a number of times since re-opening and Tom has almost completely eradicated the problem. No rushed holistic treatment with quality advice/exercises given to support… healing in between appointments.
Became extremely disillusioned in recent past, with other ‘franchise’ chiropractors, so this treatment has been a complete revolution - can not recommend highly enough! 5******

I've been visiting Tom for eight years now for a pre-existing injury and new ones that have popped up in that time. Backs, necks, hips, arms, shoulders.. he's treated them all. Even though I've since moved to Wiltshire, I still go back to Yate for treatment as I've not found an Osteopath locally as effective as Tom.

Fantastic osteopaths, I’ve been having treatment on and off from Tom for a few years and he is the best osteopath I’ve ever had! Ultra professional whilst being a friendly nice guy to chat to. I’m a hair stylist and suffer with typical stylist back and shoulder problems so a regular ‘maintenance’ appointment every 6-8 weeks keeps me upright!! A definite FIVE stars from me!
