Very nice place. Actually I was quite surprised. The room and the bathroom were clean, big and comfortable. It is a little far from city centre but everything else was OK. Free carpark on the street and behind the hotel. The one thing I found not nice is that there were no openable windows for some fresh air.

The worst night I have ever had first of when I got there the staff were u helpful told me to go to a room and a bed so one was staying in then next the cleaners came cleaned the bed and I could stay there then I was getting if to sleep and so mine came in screaming at me cause I took his bed. Then there was screaming and shouting all night. There was no kitchen facilities the fridge was rotten with stinking food the bin in the lounge was overflowing and flys around it. I would have been better of staying in a tent.

Absolutely awful. We booked a twin room and got a 5 bed dorm, admittedly to ourselves. Reception, when it is staffed is vacant and uninterested and we were told that there is no breakfast despite the noticeboard in reception saying that there is. Of course the coffee and milk in tge room was never replenished

It's out of the way, but there are buses that hi there.
The 38 is closer but it's an uphill walk from Buchanan bus station. Another bus goes from there on stand 39 every hour, but it's from a housing estate at the other side
Taxi would be my choice with baggage.
They are really helpful and lockers are available for just ,£3.
Clean, comfy, good size room. Great bathroom and shower.
Worth a stay.

BACKPACKERS BEWARE...DO NOT BOOK A DORM ROOM HERE!!!
I've stayed at and worked in multiple really cheap budget Hostel, I have never been to such an AWFUL place! I felt so UNSAFE as soon as I entered and choose to leave within the hour.
This is a BENEFITS HOSTEL, not a Backpackers Hostel, which was not made clear. People are doing drugs there,… entering other people's rooms and I couldn't even connect to the internet or use my phone whilst there to find another place to go to. I got LIED to by staff that I would be Refunded that never happened!

Really enjoyed my stay in the concerted church that’s Tartan Lodge in Dennistoun, Glasgow, which in the past was also an Orange 🍊 order building. Stayed in room 320 at the top of the former church tower in a… massive room with a double bed and private shower room. I like to people watch and found it great to watch local life going on below me from my former church tower room . The amazing Glasgow Necropolis and Glasgow Cathedral are about a 10 minute walk from Tartan Lodge . Only negatives were not enough signal to run the free view television in the room and broken Wi-fi with

It has a very friendly atmosphere. it's clean and warm inside. the outside looks a bit old but it's charming old.
It has a very low price for a bed, 8£ and for that money I've slept worse in cheap countries. So I would say there's a lot of value in this place.
The rooms are big enough, and the bathrooms are very nice I must say. You got hot water… immediately (not so evident if you've traveled a lot) when you turn on the water.
A downside is that the kitchen is cold. doesn't make it pleasant to eat and enjoy your diner. But the kitchen has an oven. That's warm. ;)

Room has 3 singles, had double booked our room so we were upgraded. Never stayed in a hostel but room was clean and fresh bedding and towels. Large toilet and shower room. Bed is comfortable … Reception were helpful when I asked for milk for tea this morning. Small car park at back of building. Large lounge room with TV. Very good self catering facilities with range cookers and microwaves. A few banging doors during the night and our room had no windows. £30 per night for private room was very good on two hours notice.

Very cool city and a beautiful Cathedral and a fun distillery nearby. I have stayed in many hostels around the world and have never met such a terrible useless receptionist. His name is JOSHUA. Every time we asks him a question he would tell me to just google it myself. He told me to go find a tour counter in the city and gave zero recommendations when i asked him, just said walk around and stare condescendingly at us. He definitely ruined my stay at tartan lodge. Another incident we came to ask about something he had 2 friends in the reception area and wouldn't acknowledge us and acted annoyed

Ok, first this is a hostel. If you don't understand what that means look it up. Second, as for hostels this is a great one. It's clean, it's close walking distance to anything you need and there is some privacy if you want it. So 5 stats all the way.
Third and lastly it's a hostel! Look that up. You have can hear through the walls and floors just like living at home. If you want hotel privacy and pampering then go pay for it. This place is diverse and full of amazing people all with stories to share. Get Out of your comfort zone and get enriched

Thieves.
Booked 4 nights in a private room.
I arrived late due to a cancelled flight and had to sleep on an airport floor. Upon my arrival I find out they cancelled my reservation, kept 100% of my money, and rented MY private room out to another guest. They told me I should have phoned, even though I already paid for my room in full and there was nothing they could do. So someone else is sleeping in the room I paid for and surely they charged them for it too.
Furious.
Attention City of Glasgow: I recommend you look into this business, audit them, and shut them down.

One of the cleanest hostels I've been to. Great kitchen as well. Rooms are nice and bathrooms were also good and clean. The wifi wasn't a strong signal but why are you inside on your phone when travelling? Go outside! The hostel is an easy 5 minute walk to Glasgow cathedral, necropolis, Drygate brewery, High Street and more. Maybe a 30 minute walk to St Enoch square/ City centre. Reception is there 24 hours a day and had a friendly smile on their face when I came back Saturday night about 3am :) Thanks for a great time Glasgow !!!
