In the Ethiopian highlands, where the legend of Kaldi, the goatherd, originated, coffee trees grow today as they have for centuries. Though we will never know with certainty, there probably is some truth to the Kaldi legend. It is said that he discovered coffee after noticing that his goats, upon eating berries from a certain tree, became so spirited that they did not want to sleep at night.
Tea is often thought of as being a quintessentially British drink, and we have been drinking it for over 350 years. But in fact the history of tea goes much further back. The story of tea begins in China. According to legend, in 2737 BC, the Chinese emperor Shen Nung was sitting beneath a tree while his servant boiled drinking water, when some leaves from the tree blew into the water.

I ordered a classic brown sugar FLOAT, but I got a lukewarm milktea!!! There's no ice cream on top, like how a NORMAL FLOAT WOULD BE! The other milkteas I ordered tasted bland, and there's no pearls by default. Unlike other milktea brands that provide milktea with pearls regardless of the customer not purchasing it as add on. If I'd known that you wouldn't give me what I ordered, I wouldn't have ordered that. Such a waste of money!!!!

Located in downtown Inverness, Blend is exactly the kind of place I was seeking for breakfast. A locally owned/family business with several vegetarian and vegan options available.
This is a small venue and you seat yourself and order at the counter. While this place is best known for teas, we ordered coffees. I had a coconut vanilla latte which was okay. My wife had the cold brew and it was odd tasting. Perhaps we should have stuck to tea, but that's okay as the food made up for it.
For our breakfasts we had the veggie breakfast bagel (Β£5.90). It's a bagel with veggie sausage, cheese

This is the most adorable cafe ever! Their sandwiches are great, and their drinks are both creative and delicious. Plus, the staff is super friendly, and it's a very relaxed atmosphere.
We both got the lunch meal (Β£7.50/person) and got:
Soup of the Day (Lentil)
Sandwiches (I got the Pulled Pork in a wrap; my girlfriend got the Spicy Bird in a bagel)
Coffee (we both got the Maple Java, which was an iced latte with vanilla infused maple syrup... aka heaven in a glass)
Will 100% come back the next time I'm in Inverness, and highly recommend to anyone in the city for a short time.

If I sit here another hour with wi-fi and sip my juice I'll make it in time for the lunch deal.... tempting but I should get some exercise and fresh air before coming back to refuel before the long bus journey back to Glasgow.
One of my favourite things about places is when they've put as much effort into their veggie/vegan options as they have their non-veg menu. There are loads of vegan options here: vegan cheese, hash browns, peanut butter, nachos.... (nachos on a bagel, why have I never done this before?!), lots of teas, and almond, coconut, and soya milk for those who are dairyfree

Lovely wee place tucked down a side street off the main drag in Inverness.
I was in there for lunch with friends, and they do a lunch special which is a filled bagel, mine was the roast red pepper, pesto and chicken, soup, which was spicy chunky veg and a drink, I went for a Β£1 extra and got the Razzamataz shake, which had raspberries, cinnamon amongst other delicious ingredients.
This was Β£8.50, would have been Β£7.50 without the upgraded drink, they have plenty of drinks as well, it is a tea and coffee haven with a selection of cakes and tasty tray bake treats as well if you were still hungry
