Sanskruti School Of Dance
Outreach: We raise awareness of South Asian art forms using workshops and performances in varied venues and for different occasions; schools, museums, hospitals, libraries, cultural festivals and private events. Last year, we started a little drawing and colouring competition for our students during the first lockdown.

Throughout the year, students have shared some of their beautiful artwork. This is the fourth year in a row when our. Our senior student Linnea is invited to be a part of Digital Diwali celebration from Manchester, UK.
Services
Our school trains students in the south-Asian dance form Bharatanatyam. We also offer Bollywood dance classes to adults. We started Sanskruti School of Dance in 2007 to train students from all age groups and with different cultural backgrounds in Cambridge, in the south Asian classical dance form called Bharatanatyam.
Our earlier choreographic experience for the Cambridge Big Weekend Festivals, book launch event for author Shahida Rahman, Cambridge Carbon Footprint event and more recently a Bharatanatyam Flashmob performance for Mill Road Midsummer Festival initiated our professional dance company Sanskruti Dance.
In line with the government guidelines for Tier 4, our outreach programme including workshops will be delivered online via Zoom until further government notification. Please do get in touch for further details. We are committed to engaging people from all age groups and cultures. We work with a broad range of organisations: schools, colleges, universities, early years foundation, adults and the elderly.
Krishna's Dance Your PhD 2021 featured by American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. During UK's 2nd lockdown, Krishna and her two children decided to create a dance film of Krishna's PhD thesis for Science magazine's Dance Your PhD contest 2021. In conversation with Cambridge Live for their 'Behind the Scenes' series for Cambridge Big Weekend.
Sanskruti Dance is inviting applications for a professional Bharatanatyam dancer to be part of the research and development (R&D) of our new family dance theatre production "Magical Honey". This project is supported by Arts Council England, Akademi and DanceEast. This will be a paid engagement with future touring opportunities.
