Managed to take us in despite not having a booking and being quite busy. The Sunday roast was out of this world amazing, the chicken was so succulent. Cozy atmosphere, fantastic service.

This was our second stay here, & it was even better than the first.
Very spacious comfortable room, excellent food & outstanding staff.
Over the past 8 years we have stayed at The Stag, The Bell & Stowe Lodge, they were all good but The Kings Arms surpasses them all in our opinion.
We will definitely be returning.

Lovely hotel in the heart of Stow on the Wold. Friendly staff. We were put in a sweet little bijoux room, up some fairly steep stairs! They kindly gave us a bottle of bubbly to help celebrate our anniversary, which was above and beyond. Generous smoked salmon portion for breakfast. All the staff happy and smiling. Recommended!

This review is particularly for the pub only.

After the long day in Woodstock, we stopped by Stow on the wold on the way back to our hotel in search for dinner.
It was a quiet night and quite chilling so we didn't plan much of where to eat, we also didn't want to walk aimlessly looking for food so we just walked in The King Arms' Pub.

We were greeted warmly and our order was taken promptly. Appetizers were tasty and came out quickly. That was really helping since we were tired and hungry!

The main dishes look fantastic and taste great!
I really think the Brits cook their potatoes

We enjoyed a lovely evening at the Kings Arms. The restaurant/pub was quiet and the service was excellent. The tomato soup was a highlight for me, and everyone enjoyed the bubble and squeak (look it up!). The pub has a British atmosphere that's perfect after a day spent in Stow on the Wold. It was also recommended in a 2008 article featured in The NY Times, however, we discovered it simply by walking through town.

One complaint was that the pork chop was a bit fatty. The flavors were great, but for the price, I would like a meatier cut.

On the whole, the Kings Arms is definitely worth

After a few days in the Cotswolds the tourist villages start to all seem generic. On the various high streets one finds the same knick-knack stores, same charity shops, the clothes boutiques and the endless sweets & child's toy stores. Same goes as well for the pub eateries.

This one certainly fits the mold of tourist town pub.
Located on the town square. Kitschy old England dining room decor, generic pub food menu, young maiden servers.

The pork pie special lunch was good enough. Meat stewed to succulence. Fresh vegetables steamed to near mushiness. Mash potatoes were smooth without

Just returned to this most charming of memories from 4 years ago. The floors are uneven the stairs are steep, the light is dim. It's totally enchanting!

We happened upon it the first time by chance and couldn't wait to return.
So we made a special stop on our U.K. Vacation this year. It was just as we recalled.
Staff member Henry was a terrific help with our heavy bags up and down the steep stairway. He also was our waiter in the dining room for dinner and breakfast.
Really enjoyed chatting to him and all the assistance he cheerfully provided.
Highly recommend this special hotel

This review is just for the restaurant.

Great lunch spot with large portions of fresh and well-executed British food. Decent selection of drinks, and their cocktails are great for a casual place like this.

We came to the restaurant and also stopped at the hotel for two nights, both I would give four stars but the below review is just about the restaurant. We wanted something special as it was our anniversary and the quirky decor and intimate setting was perfect. I ordered the steak which was cooked perfectly and came with a Stilton sauce. My other half had the chicken with spinach and a cream sauce - the chicken was lovely and moist but there could have been a bit more sauce. For desert I had the cheese board which was a huge amount for how cheap it was. My other half had the Baileys bread and butter

We liked the pub. That is really all we tried. We attempted dinner, but arrived about 9:15 pm and they stopped serving food at 9:00, so we were out of luck there. We had a drink (or three) instead. A few locals were enjoyable to chat with and the bartender was a nice young man who made us feel very welcome, unlike some of the other pubs in the area.

Would recommend it for a stop if you are in the area.
