Kringla Apartments
Kringla consists of three beautiful quality apartments in the small friendly village of Dounby, central to most of the main visitor attractions. Very close to a well stocked grocery store, fuel station, hotel, butcher and more. It's really well located for the major sights and every direction the road takes has led to great adventures!

We have been to Skara Brae, with the super beach at Skaill Bay. We loved the informative 1pm tour @ Ness of Brodgar and wandered the stones @ Stenness too. The tales of graffiti (Viking) in Maeshowe were fun.too many visits to list all over Mainland & down over the Churchill Barriers. Lovely to return each evening to such a well equipped, cosy and excellently maintained flat.

Kringla Apartments are owned and operated by Orcadians, Dave and Kay Morgan, who warmly welcome visitors and share their love of Orkney. We pride ourselves in giving our visitors the best, most comfortable experience we can and aim for a high standard. We have been in the self-catering business for over 25 years and thoroughly enjoy meeting new people and making new friends along the way.
Modern kitchen complete with dishwasher, microwave, pyrolytic oven, ceramic hob, fridge and freezer. If an apartment is not what you are really looking for, we also have a holiday caravan on the family farm, three miles from Dounby.

Please note that arrival day is on a Saturday during the peak season, but we try to be as flexible as possible and if you require a different arrival day please phone +44 (0)1856 841 803 or email us to discuss requirements.The best sleep I have had in years! The apartment is beautiful and has the home feel, good location for visiting all the sites.
Kringla Two is a Spacious apartment sleeping 5, with ample off road parking and free WiFi. Two bedrooms - one double and one twin/triple (a roll away bed) each with storage space and reading lamps. Black out curtains as our summer days are very long and getting to sleep with the sun shining in can be difficult!.
Kringla Three is our luxury apartment with large windows and lots of natural light to enjoy Orkney's long summer evenings. Panoramic views over the surrounding farmland, moorland and out towards the hills of Hoy and Greeny. Sleeps 5 (king size and twin with full size guest bed), with ample off road parking and free WiFi.
Kringla Apartments are in the peaceful village of Dounby. Dounby is situated on cross roads to all parts of the West Mainland of Orkney. Its central location gives easy access to the archaeological and historic sites, beautiful coastlines, lochs and RSPB reserves. They are a short drive to Orkney's two towns of Kirkwall and Stromness.

Wow... I cannot put into words how much we enjoyed our stay! Kay & Dave are two of the nicest people you could ever meet, providing not only a gorgeous apartment but a wealth of information to ensure you make the most of your visit. Kringla is very clean, spacious & modern, with all you need and more. I have not slept that well in years! Its in an excellent location, with plenty to do and see nearby. We were there for 7 days; by day 3 we were already planning a return visit. I would not hesitate to recommend Kringla, and wouldn't look anywhere else when arranging our return. Heaven!

Three superbly appointed self-catering apartments. Central for West Mainland scenic and Neolithic attractions on Orkney. Good parking and all mod cons. Nearby Co-op is well stocked and there is a tasteful craft shop too. Recommended.

To say this has been some 'find' would understate how perfect the accommodation, with the amenities both in the property and locally being first rate, has been for us. It's at a perfect point in the landscape for visiting the main archaeological sites and some fantastic beaches. It also proved a great central point for getting to ports for trips out to other islands of the archipelago. As Douglas Adams pointed out... I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be. And this is that place. I will be back.
