Ace Taxi

Easy to book, prompt and courteous. Expensive but on a par with local prices. Didn’t seem too clean and driver didn’t wear a mask so if this is an issue I’d check ahead.

We researched ways to get our bags to the train station in advance of arriving. Their website makes them seem great and calls out that they will pick you up “anytime” and “anywhere”. I called to reserve a 6am cab to the train station and was told they didn’t open until 7am. We were left without a ride and walked in the rain. From other reviews, it seems they thrive on bait-and-switch tactics, look elsewhere.

Me and my wife order a 1.3 mile (3 minute) taxi. The meter said £5.60 then the driver demanded £10 as "his boss told him to charge us £10".
The day before we had a 3.5 mile taxi, with the same company, that only cost us a £10 something.
They clearly just make up the prices for tourists.
The drivers where nice and pleasant to be fair but that does not make up for the made up prices.

Again, it was Ace Taxi Windemere - I'm more than happy to have a conversation if you want me to call in.
I assumed he was Italian as I could hear the accent, could be wrong. Either way, it was at 12:47 on Friday 29th if you would like to check your records.
Literally the worst taxi driver I've ever had, highly recommend not using this firm as I'm sure there are plenty without terrible drivers.

Cancelled the booking 30mins before they were due to pick us up.
Don't take a booking if you can't fulfill your contract. Not impressed. As late on a Sunday it caused us no end of problems

Booked a taxi yesterday from Ambleside to Glenridding. Had an excellent service!. The driver (sorry we didn't get his name) was very friendly, polite, punctual and chatty. The taxi was clean and tidy. Would highly recommend. Thankyou for a great service!!!!

What a great service. Spacious and well-maintained vans. Affordable prices. Worth booking in advance.

A plus for Ace Taxis. We had to get home in a pinch and we would have never thought taxis would be booked our for three hours on. Saturday night of a bank holiday weekend. After initially saying they were booked, we called back and they we able to get us a taxi within the next half hour! Driver was great as well, nice clean car and good driving.

Great reliable taxi service I had booked a taxi on a couple of occasions whilst staying in Windermere and they were punctual,polite and clean. One time I had booked for a 2230 pickup from Baha . One of our party of 6 had a broken leg which was hurting so we requested the taxi earlier than booked and it was there in less than 5 minutes which was great at such short notice. Highly recommend this firm 👍

Taxi arrived on time, the driver proceeded to drive very fast and made me and my partner feel Ill but we did get to our destination safe and payed the agreed fair.
On the way back we called the depot for a return taxi only to be told the fair will be increased significantly (we suspect that it was because it was the school run time) but was told it was a mistake from the person booking it, this left us stranded!
We booked with another company who collected us very quickly and for less money!
Avoid this company at all costs as they may try to rip you off as well!
