We can all experience difficulties and loss in our lives; at home, at work, at college and in our relationships. Counselling can help you to improve how you manage and cope with these difficulties. My aim is to offer you a calm, non-judgemental and respectful place to explore your thoughts and feelings, in a way that makes sense.

I am trained to listen and my approach (person-centred) and manner is gentle and calm. I draw on my own broad life experiences to create a safe, supportive and accepting place for you to talk about things that may be causing you distress. People who come to see me for counselling are often feeling stressed and anxious, or depressed with low mood and lacking in motivation.
Services
I hold a Diploma and Certificate in Counselling Theory, Skills and Practice and regularly attend Professional Development days both with the BACP, Relate and other relevant individuals. I have also worked as a Counsellor for the NHS at the Mental Wellbeing and Access service in Exeter and at a charitable organisation in Exmouth for a number of years.
As a person-centred Counsellor my aim is not to be directive with you and that it is up to you to decide what to bring to counselling and how much to share with me. I respect the need to take 'small steps' and I believe that feelings and thoughts will emerge when they are ready to be felt and dealt with.
