Established in 2011, The Barkside was designed to create a new standard for dog care, which includes a careful selection and induction process to provide the safest possible environment for the pooches in our care. At our flagship facility in Ancoats we provide Day Care, Dog taxi, dog walking, Grooming and a shop.
With the addition of our Cheshire and online store we have your doggy needs covered! My dog loves going here he has a full day socialising with other dogs and comes home completely tired out. It's great for high energy dogs who need that extra bit of exercise and the shop and groomer are super convenient as well.

Services
Our transparent, spacious, cage-free play area is perfect for providing dogs the physical & mental stimulation they need. As we all know they are very social creatures and the experience of spending long periods of time with others is priceless in terms of their wellbeing. With over 2000 square feet of indoor and outdoor play areas you can be assured that while you are busy with other things your dog is having fun.
Our main aim is to make this sometimes scary experience as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Only one dog will be attended to in the salon (unless multiple from same household), minimising stress and anxiety and ensuring all focus is on your dog only. All dogs welcome for a stylistic, personalised salon experience with our on site groomer.
We know from personal experience that the most stressful thing about having a puppy is leaving them, let us ease that guilt and provide you with reassurance while you tend to your daily duties. As part of the visit we will feed your puppy, clean up any unwanted accidents and replace any used puppy pads.

Thank you so much for the amazing “Bad to the Bone” kerchief we had delivered today for our puppy, Buddy! He looks insanely cute in it. It is of excellent quality and super durable against sharp puppy teeth. The care that has gone into making this is clear and I can’t tell you how excited I am to have a dog that wears a kerchief ! The care and love the team show the dogs is amazing. I know Duke is well looked after when he’s in doggy day care and he always looks amazing after a groom. The shops are also excellent and have everything you need to love, care and pamper your pup.

We brought our rescue dog to Barkside yesterday for his first trip to the groomers and were really nervous about leaving him but the girls there were amazing.
They were gentle with him, they made him feel comfortable and when they finished, he smelled and looked fantastic.
Would highly recommend and we will be going again.
