Services
Established in Sheffield, England since 1840 as ELR Auctions we are the region's oldest Auctioneers and Valuers. In 2010 we renamed and became Sheffield Auction Gallery and with our team of Specialist Valuers we offer free detailed advice on all aspects of pre-Auction Valuation and Auction Sale. In 2014 we acquired and incorporated A. E. Dowse & Son Limited, who were another very well established Sheffield Auctioneers.
If you cannot attend the sale personally then you can instruct Sheffield Auction Gallery to bid on your behalf - this service is free of charge. Lots will be purchased as cheaply as is allowed by other bids and the reserve price on the auctioneers books. All successful bids are subject to the Buyers Premium of 20% plus VAT (24% inclusive of VAT).

Avoid at all costs: they are only interested in maximising their profits, no interest in providing any meaningful after-sales support to buyers. I bought several framed items and they provided absolutely no help whatsoever in getting them transported. The page on their website explaining shipping is confusing and loaded with ifs, buts and maybes ... it's as clear as mud. I have found this organisation to be amateurish and lazy and would not recommend them - I have bought from a number of other auction houses in the UK and this has been, by far, the worst experience.

Sheffield Gallery sold some of my mother’s furniture following her death. From the start they were efficient and helped me through a process of which I had no experience. Alison kept me informed from the start and was always available to answer questions. The whole business was smooth and made easy. I have dealt with many people and organisations since my mother died and Sheffield Gallery were by far the best. Thank you.
