Several years ago this shop did a full restoration on the movement of my long case clock, the clock has been working perfectly until my wife dislodged the pendulum which caused the thin piece of metal at the top to break.I contacted Martin regarding replacing the broken metal, an appointment was made to visit the shop, to my surprise Martin said unless there were to be any unexpected problems I should be able to collect the pendulum in about 2 hours. First class service from Martin which saved me a second trip into the town centre

I cannot recommend Martin and the repairer Andrew enough, after successfully restoring my Father's treasured 1970's breitling watch, which had sadly not worked in a very long time. Martin was very helpful explaining works that needed to be done, the time scale of obtaining parts, repairing, cleaning and the cost of work to be done.
Originally I was told the watch was beyond repair (by another unscrupulous shop) even though I had paid £30 deposit for the parts search (which we lost) along with over 11 weeks of time!. So you can imagine my delight when not only was Martin an absolute professional

I’ve used Martin several times to repair clocks and my lovely watch. My watch was returned from the makers saying they couldn’t mend it, but Martin was able to sort the problem with no issues.
Each mend has taken less than a week, so a quick turn around is great.
The shop isn’t open every day, but the opening times and contact number are clearly posted on the door.

Repair and Servicing of a Complex Carriage Clock. My daughter’s carriage clock which was a night repeater with alarm developed some problems and kept stopping. I had difficulty finding a repairer who could tackle such a complex clock. Martin came to the rescue and his workshop did a magnificent job which included re-bushing one of the bearings. The clock is now keeping perfect time and striking merrily. The price charged reflected good value for money for the intricacy of the job and I would have no hesitation in recommending him for repairing and servicing clocks of any value.
