My name's Chris Gelder, and although my official title is clinical hypnotherapist, my real role is helping people overcome the issues, emotions, traumas and fears that are holding them back, and maybe that's one of the reasons you're here today.

My official title is Registered Hypno-Psychotherapist; however my real role is in helping people release the emotional blockages that are creating problems and issues in their lives. I have referrals from other therapists as well as referrals from doctors and counsellors. They've referred clients over to me when they have had deep rooted emotional problems and have been unable to work with the abreactions that these emotions cause.
When most people think of a hypnosis session they may have a perception of a hypnotist waving a clock around and telling them that they feel so sleepy, after which they plant suggestions to make you stop panicking or able to overcome some fear or phobia. That all sounds simple and straightforward, but if it really was that simple then all you'd need to do is listen to a self hypnosis recording and you'd be done.
If you're like many people, your perception of what hypnotherapy is may have come from TV, Films or the stage, and as such, you may have some questions you want answering. No it's not mind control, if it was i'd have a private island in the Bahamas and i'd fly you out to it on my private jet! Hypnosis isn't mind control and it isn't about reprogramming you.
As you may expect, the number of sessions required to deal with your issue will vary according your individual circumstances and needs. Many problems and challenges can be overcome within 3 to 6 sessions every 1 or 2 weeks, while other more complicated issues such as depression and PTSD may require more sessions spread over a longer period of time.
Currently, the world we live in feels like it's full of fear, and it can feel impossible to find any relief from it all. We live in a world with 24 hour news sharing aspects of all the ills in the world, and whilst it can be informative, for sufferers of anxiety, health anxiety and GAD, this isn't helpful at all.

Chris is a highly skilled and gifted therapist. His welcoming and calm professional manner totally set me at ease from the very beginning. Over our sessions his guidance has been gentle and supportive. I never felt under any pressure to work beyond where I felt comfortable, but encouraged by the results to give my full commitment to the process. Chris is a wealth of support and offering techniques to cope day to day.
He found the root of my issues and helped me deal with suppressed emotions. I have had anxiety on and off for many years resulting in huge breakdown 5 months ago. After 2 sessions I feel me again and understand going forward how to express these.
It is by far the best money I have spent and cannot recommend him enough.
I now understand my subconscious and how to keep a healthy mental balance in my life.
If your thinking of booking just do it, i felt calm and safe and Chris is extremely proffessional, experienced and understanding

The work I have done with Chris is easily the most valuable investment I have ever made in myself. I'd tried loads of different therapies and self-improvement techniques over 25+ years without any sustainable success, and had given up.

After a long period of stress, my anxiety levels reached a point whereby it dominated my life. Everything from panic attacks, poor sleep, no appetite and generalised anxiety in all areas of life. Having tried a whole list of modalities from acupuncture, shiatsu, myofascial release, EFT, TFT, hypnosis, etc, nothing was really changing. I then realised that it was absolutely critical to have trust and rapport with the facilitator (therapist). You must be comfortable and be able to let-go in their company, failure to do this and the resistance will prevent a positive outcome. Chris is the only facilitator
