Cranial osteopathy refers to a very gentle therapeutic approach that is part of traditional osteopathy. It was first coined to express the fact that the flexibility of the joints in the body includes the specialised joints in the head known as sutures.
Now the name is not entirely helpful as it implies a focus on the head when cranial osteopathy has come to be understood as gentle approach used for treatment of the whole body and not only or mainly the head.In papers and magazines cranial osteopathy is most often highlighted as a treatment for new-borns and babies.

A new baby arriving in the world is a blessing and a joy. It can be like a bundle of love and the focus of life changes to revolve around the baby's needs. Family dynamics change for everyone including siblings. It is a wonderful time and it can also be exhausting especially if you particular new arrival isn't a 'sleeper'!
Pregnancy is an extraordinary time as a new baby is growing and developing, a new life beginning. Pregnancy is a natural event that leads to major changes physically and hormonally. As the mother's posture adapts to the increased weight of the growing baby and uterus her weight bearing shifts and changes the shape of her spine and pelvis.
In the UK millions of work days a year are lost due to low back pain and most adults will experience it at some point in their lives. Back pain can have many causes and often there are a number of factors that have led to the onset of an episode of pain. Postural strain, physical work, falls and lifting injuries are all common contributors.
As we age changes happen throughout the body. We may begin feel 'creaky' and less flexible, joints may become achy, we may find we get tired more quickly. Gradually over time we lose bone mass and muscle mass. On the positive side research has found that older people tend to be more content and happy with life.

I have known Denise for about 4 years now from her previous practice in North London, she has always been very attentive to any issue one has and is very reasuring.
She specialises in Crainal osteopathy and although its seem as a treatment for infants post birth, I have had cranial ostopathy for sinus issues and its really helped.
I cannot but recomend Denise, she maybe in another location of the country but she is still a great osteopath.
