We are a traditional, family butchers established in 1987. We pride ourselves on providing fresh, high quality meat to retail and business customers, and our personal, professional and friendly customer service. With only 2 people allowed in the shop at any time, we will be extending our opening hours: Monday 21st.

Because of demand we shall be prioritising delivery to the "At Risk" such as over 70's or those with on. We are experiencing problems with taking orders over the internet, therefore if you haven't received a reply the chances are.

About us Report

Ron Barker Quality Meats was established in 1987. We are a traditional family butchers that provide fresh, high quality meat. We prefer the personal approach and value our excellent customer service. Every request is always met with a smile - no matter how small or large. We are an independent butcher's shop and have an outstanding reputation for quality based on customer satisfaction.

History Report

Ron has been working in butcher's shops since he was 16. His first job was delivering meat in the basket of a bike and general cleaning duties for Baxter's Butchers in Coventry city centre. From then, Ron trained as a butcher at Jack Connah's and then after a brief stint away from the trade moved back into the business to work for Graham Francis' Butchers in Coventry as an Assistant Manager.

Cooked products and cheese Report

Cooked meats are available in various sized packs starting from approx 4oz/110g = 3 slices. All our delicious meat pies are handmade and freshly baked at The Baker's Dozen, Kenilworth using our own meat to ensure they are of high quality. Our fruit pies and cakes are also handmade and freshly baked at The Baker's Dozen, Kenilworth.

Marinades and sauces Report

Mealtimes don't need to be the same each week, keep things fresh and new with our large selection of marinades and sauces. Some of most popular marinades are pork steaks in peppers, turkey steaks in lemon pepper, lamb chops in mint and chicken kebabs in Chinese. Simply request your meat to be coated in one of the marinades below.

I have bought goodies from here several times and the variety is good i find the quality of the meat not consistent with the prices they charge.
The sausages are good but wasn't impressed with the quality of the rump.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.

My more or less local butchers, I always come back for their sausages, which are made on site fresh and are absolutely superb! No gristle and fat packing out the sausage, just top quality lean, tasty meat. Try their standard pork ones and the tomato sausage is a regular for me too. I also tried a 'breakfast sausage' with black pudding in it, absolutely bangin' (excuse the pun) :)

Today I bought some sausages and bacon from here after eating supermarket bought meat for the last year. The difference was incredible! Absolutely no water or fat came out. The bacon didn't shrink to half the size. The flavour of both was incredible. Will not go back to supermarket meat!

Great local shop in Coundon.
We always get our meat from here, never disappoints. The guys are really nice too.
If you take your own plastic boxes you can also avoid all the plastic packaging too. Much better than the supermarkets and usually a comparable price too 👍

2nd year running ordering all my Christmas meat from Ron Barker. Best meat by a mile. Turkey was so moist and soft, I had a rolled breast covered in bacon and a lamb shoulder which again was fantastic all freshly prepared on arrival. Staff all cheery and nothing is too much trouble. Can't wait to dig into the big pork pies !! Definitely recommend and use.

Barker's butcher shop is, in my view, the best butcher in Coventry. Not the cheapest but one that I first visited 20 years ago and the only one that I still regularly use. Great service, nice people and great products.

Great butcher! We love the fact they’re open all day on a Saturday as well! Most of the butcher’s we find close at lunchtime on a Saturday.
Nice family-run business. They’re very friendly and we’re always happy with the quality of the produce.

Great quality and service from the friendly, helpful team. Try their beef brisket - it melts in your mouth. We don't buy meat from supermarkets anymore because the quality doesn't compare with what we can get from Ron Barker, and the prices often match or beat those in the big stores.
