Anaerobic digestion is the natural biological process whereby organic material, known as feedstock, is broken down by micro-organisms and converted into energy. This energy, known as biogas, is comprised of carbon dioxide and methane. Landfills are well known contributors to greenhouse gases that destroy the environment.
