The Partnership was formed in 1979 by Mr Andrew Firebrace to provide structural engineering services and has seen steady growth since then, becoming a limited company in 2005. There are now four Directors who are supported by twenty technical and administration staff members. We have also established specialist companies to undertake CDM, party wall surveying services and contract management services and design work for specialist sectors.

AFP Construction Consultants was established in 1994 and, from our offices here in Swaffham Bulbeck, just outside Cambridge, we operate over a wide area of East Anglia, London and the East Midlands. Our work covers many aspects of building consultancy - project management, employers agent, CDM and party wall advice - for all types of clients: commercial, domestic and institutional.
All Clients having maintenance or building work carried out have legal duties under CDM 2015 and where more than one contractor is involved must appoint a Principal Designer and Principal Contractor to help in the planning and co-ordination of the work. These Regulations help ensure that your construction project is safe to build, safe to use and safe to maintain.
It provides a framework for preventing and resolving disputes in relation to party walls, boundary walls and excavations near neighbouring buildings. It is based on some tried and tested provisions of the London Building Acts, which applied in inner London for many decades before the Act came into force.
