Services
Westway Kennels has been established for over 65 years, however we have owned the kennels for the last 10 years. It is a small family run business situated close to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and the town centre. Our location enables easy access for local people and visitors alike. We only board 14 dogs and 16 cats at any one time which enables us to spend more time looking after your furry friend.
We cater for breeds and sizes of dogs and will accommodate long or short stays as well as doggie day care. Our pens for the dogs are indoors however throughout the day they have the run of a large outdoor area (once the gates are closed to the public). The kennels and cattery are both centrally heated during the winter and we have air condition units to keep them cool during the summer months.
We provide quality food for them during their stay, however, if you prefer you can bring along their regular food to avoid any upset tummies or digestive problems. Healthy treats will be provided during the day, toys and a stimulating environment for your dog and we urge you to bring along their favourite toy or blanket to keep them company whilst you are away.
Please ensure your dog is up to date with all their vaccinations or have a current Titre test certificate to cover the period of their stay at Westway Kennels. The vaccinations must have been administered at least 2 weeks prior to your dog staying with us. We will accept a certificate from a vet of a recent protective titre test as evidence of protection against Distemper, Hepatitis (adenovirus) and parvovirus.
Whilst not compulsory we recommend that you have your dog vaccinated against kennel cough. This needs to be done at least 2 weeks prior to boarding as this is a highly contagious infection that can be passed through the air when their are a large number of dogs in the same area.

Any dog the has had kennel cough vaccination that has not had 2 clear weeks prior to boarding will be refused to be checked in with us, this is to safeguard our other boarders. Please ensure we are aware of any medical condition prior to your pets' stay. It is your responsibility to ensure that we have the correct instructions and quantity of medication for the duration of their boarding.

Elizabet and her daughter are lovely, and you can tell they really care for our pets and look after them well. I was nervous to take my dog at 1st, but they truly put my mind at rest, and my dog loves it there. I would totally recommend

Westway looked after both my dogs while I was on holiday for a week. Neither had been in kennels since they were rescued and one of them is very nervous so we were a bit anxious putting them in kennels. We needn't have worried. They were looked after perfectly. They listened to everything we told them about their likes and dislikes and posted pictures on Facebook so we could see how they were getting on. When we came to collect them they were happy, healthy and smelled far better than when we dropped them off! They didn't want to leave!

We were so worried about leaving our lurcher Jed at the kennels
but we need not have worried as they were fantastic and looked after him
so well.
He was let out to play many times during the day and he enjoyed his stay there.
All the staff were very friendly and reassuring towards us, would highly recommend these kennels to anyone.

Our Cockerpoo Molly, age 1, has been under Victoria and Elizabet's care for the last two weeks, and she has clearly enjoyed her time. It was her first time in kennels. She ate all her food and cannot have fretted. She came back smelling sweet and groomed. She was obviously very loved and very well cared for whilst we were away. Highly Recommended. Thank you Victoria and Elizabet. Love the Evans' and Molly🐕
