Welcome to Oakfield Boarding Kennels and Cattery, based at Freckleton on the Fylde Coast and in easy reach from Preston, Blackpool, Lytham, St. Annes, Warton and Kirkham in Lancashire. We are a family run kennels that has been established for over 25 years by owners Ted and Alice Threlfall. Services
Based on the Fylde coast - very close to the M55 Motorway and within easy reach of both Preston and Blackpool, Oakfield is ideally situated. We take in dogs and cats covering a wide area of Lancashire including Freckleton, Preston, Blackpool, Warton, Kirkham, Lytham, St. Annes, Clifton and Poulton to name a few.
Our specially designed cattery was completely rebuilt in 2003, providing modern and spacious pens for your cat. Each pen has its own individual outside area with 24 hour access, allowing your cat the freedom to go outside when it chooses. The outside areas are fitted with steps allowing your cat to bask in the sun on those rare sunny days!
Each one of our 50 dog pens, has its own spacious indoor and outdoor area and your dog has access to both, 24 hours a day. Inside, there is a raised bed area which is sheltered from the outside access, providing a warm area for your dog to sleep in. We openly encourage customers to bring their dogs own bedding or toys, to help comfort your dog during its stay.

Alice and Ted, the lovely couple that run the cattery, are absolute gems who clearly care a great deal about giving the best experience to their furry residents. Ted even shared with us the extra lengths he goes to just to ensure every animal settles in comfortably, even if he has to sit with them at night to calm down home sick pets. I will be using this cattery again and it's a pleasure to support such a wonderful local business.

Absolutely amazing kennels. The owners are lovely people 🙂. We have left our 3 huskies there twice now and been more than happy when we have picked them up. It's one of the very few places I know our dogs are safe and I actually feel comfortable leaving them. Makes a change to find people that put the needs of the animals they are taking care of first. Would recommend this place to everyone 🙂❤️

I sent two bulldog here, And told the staff that they are kept apart due to not being able to tolerate eachother. They have come back to me today after 7 days away. With cuts and grazes around the face. Pictures have been taken. And the dogs stink and have clearly been left to soak in there own piss. This is unacceptable it's animal abuse. And the last thing I expected my dogs to return with. My frustration is beyond words. How can you treat animals like this?

I left my two 5 month old female puppies here from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning while I was visiting Preston (I live in Leicester). As I was leaving I had an inkling there was no water in their kennel and I was right. The owner wasn’t impressed when I reminded him. Plus he only gave them one bowl between them despite me asking him to give them a bowl each. They also didn’t ask for vaccination certificates! Didn’t strike me as a particularly caring place. I felt really unhappy about leaving them but had to choice at that stage. When I collected them they were ravenous and drank two

My cat was absolutely terrified of the supposed care giver. No heat or blankets. Obviously no cuddles or fuss given.
I provided my own food and this was ignored and given different food resulting in my cat having a upset stomach and diorreha. So angry my husband would even leave him here. Do not recommend!
