Astares is an independent, appointment only, men's formal wear company based in Havant, Hampshire. The company was founded by Jez and Ruth. The couple dreamed of running a business that prized genuinely outstanding customer experience and fantastic products, so that's what they did! The company began in a small sublet room in Chichester, while both Jez and Ruth juggled full time employment with fueling their dream business.
I'm one of the company directors of Astares menswear. I am "front of house" as you will usually meet with myself for your consultation and fitting appointments. My background is public services, which I did for nearly fourteen years. I founded Astares back in 2015 and have been building it up over the last few years.
Whether its country, deep weave or Peaky Blinders, here is a collection of tweed suits and wool suits to purchase online or buy in store. Textured, tweed and woolen suits are becoming ever more popular. We have a great range of colours and patterns and in different price brackets and fabric weights to find that perfect suit.
Our aim here at Astares is to ensure the groom looks fantastic and feels confident and special in his wedding suit. However, we also know that it can be as important that the Mens wedding attire works well with the theme of the wedding and any important colours. We achieve this by working with the couple and yes, your fiance is invited to come along for this reason.

We met with Jez and Ruth for the Groom consultation and we learnt so much about how to dress the Groom for our special day. They listened to everything we wanted and actually what we thought we wanted we didn’t 🤣. So so happy with the service guidance and professional help. Whilst not their traditional wedding customer, I've bought a couple of business suits from Jez and Ruth at Astares. In both cases the service was exemplary and thoroughly recommended. It's great to sit and discuss what you like and what suits you, coupled with a personal and totally relaxed service. Both suits fit perfectly, good value and of excellent quality.

We used Astares for our wedding in August and we can’t thank them enough for the stunning tuxedo’s they provided us with. Jez really knows his stuff so the initial appointment was really helpful when deciding what we wanted and the process moving forward was nothing but smooth and stress free - exactly what I needed when planning a wedding during a pandemic! We’ve just got our professional photos back and they just look so sharp, we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. I just want to say a massive thankyou for all your help with the suits for mine and Charlotte's wedding. With all the issues with several postponements ant you were absolutely amazing throughout we had such a good day and the help you guys gave made the whole experience so much better. I would recommend you too anyone that is looking for buying/hiring suits.

Given all of the government restrictions and uncertainty around our wedding date, we anticipated a huge rush in booking, ordering and finalising my suits for our June 2021 wedding. As it turned out, Jez and Ruth were so accommodating and we had the best possible experience, even though we knew they were up to their eyeballs in orders and appointments. Jez was very keen to listen to my preferences and style, and worked wonders to fit this around me, and Ruth was always so friendly and helpful with any follow ups. My dad even ordered his father-of-the-groom suit following my glowing recommendation

If you live within a hundred miles of Havant. And you don't get your formal wear from Astares, you're doing yourself a disservice.
Jez and Ruth have been amazing from the first fitting, to the big day. My wife and I are a COVID couple, and as such we had to reschedule our wedding three times. Eventually landing on a fourth date, eighteen months after we were supposed to be married. Over that time, the dimensions of my groomsmen had changed somewhat. But it was not an issue. Our wedding was delayed twice due to Covid and we are really grateful that Astares let us move our dates without any hassle. They were very helpful and flexible when it came to booking our final fitting - there were hardly any appointment slots available but they found space to fit us in. Everyone we dealt with was extremely friendly and professional.
The suits we received were clean and top quality. Everyone looked great on the day! We’d thoroughly recommend them
