The friendly environment of Watford Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is one of its most distinguishing characteristics. While most other Martial Arts schools promote an egotistical "tough guy" environment, which can be very unwelcoming and dangerous for the students, the Gracies are very concerned with making each and every trip to our school safe, fun and encouraging for all students, especially those with little or no experience.
We expect all students to display the utmost respect and courtesy towards one another and to maintain safety as their first priority. Students who do not follow this code of conduct are not welcome at Watford Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality
A first class club for Jiu Jitsu training. Ben, Nicolai, Mike and Ben are all gifted and patient teachers and they create a safe and fun training environment for all levels of ability. Gracie Jiu Jitsu is designed for street self defence as well as for sport BJJ and that’s the added ingredient that makes this club special.

My daughters started the watford jiu -jitsu on 4 May with 10 days trial free, pay £60 deposit for the uniform + £23,25 after trial. During that time they didn’t give me any contract paper or by email, Cai just say that after 10 day the deposit will return to me.
Then after 9 training the girls decided to spend hot day in park, I have to cancel, ask Cai when the last day cancel to avoid pay the next membership, she told me I have until 14 before the payment comes on 15 and should return the uniform. 9 of June I returned it.
The same day instead call or tell me when I still at class, she send

Amazing club, great atmosphere, instructors are incredibly helpful and supportive.
Good spread of classes even in these difficult times. They were incredibly agile and flexible during the full lockdown moving everything to zoom.
I’ve been going for just over a year now and do not have a bad word to say or think.
I’ve tried other centres out and pound for pound this is the best place to learn jiu jitsu!

I’ve been trying a few different clubs in a past and Gracie Bjj it’s the one, I’ve been looking for! Teachers are fantastic! They are taking time to explain a technique, make sure all group understand and follow correctly. Most important they have a passion and it reflects on how they passing the knowledge.
I would recommend especially to all the women who wants to learn a self defence and gain confidence. Everyone’s very friendly and welcoming.

I have been training with Ben Tippen since January and I absolutely love Watford Gracie Jiu-jitsu. Watford Gracie Jiu-jitsu recently moved to a new and larger location where they can host more students with more classes. Gracie Jiu-jitsu is a martial art that teaches adults how to defend themselves and children how to avoid being bullied. You can start with a 10-day free trial where you get unlimited classes and the uniforn (aka 'Gi') to train with for free. When you enroll you can keep your Gi. The teaching method is based on a curriculum with intermediate goals - this motivates you to learn and

Having trained at Watford Gracie Jiu-Jtsu for around a year, I can honestly say that Ben Tippen is one of the best instructors you will find. Ben is friendly, engaging, and gives a lot of encouragement. You do not have to be the strongest, fittest or most flexible person around to learn and enjoy Gracie JJ. The syllabus based system that Gracie JJ teaches, is perfect for a complete beginner of any age or fitness level. I would 100% recommend Watford Gracie JJ and Ben Tippen to anyone. Come along and give it a try, it might be one of the best decisions of your life. get fit, have fun, meet nice

As a woman, starting such a close contact Martial art can be stressful and intimidating, and choosing the right club is very important.
I’m entering my third year of training at the Watford Gracie jiu jitsu and I couldn't’t be happier. The main instructor Ben Tippen provides quality instructions and constant support.
The classes are really friendly, and the people you train with, really respectful, so you always feel safe trying new techniques and discovering ways to improve your game.
It is a very welcoming club, and they ease you into the process, instead of throwing you in the deep end

I have been training at Watford GJJ for about a year now. I would highly recommend both the club and Ben Tippen’s instruction. The club is very friendly, there are no ego’s and everybody is welcoming and works to help each other. Ben has a huge enthusiasm for Gracie jiu jitsu and his technical knowledge and the quality of his teaching is brilliant. He is very dedicated and supportive to all members. I’ve got a huge amount out of being part of the club and look forward to the future training there.

I have trained at the club for coming to three months and really enjoy the classes, this is after having experienced at few different Jiu Jitsu clubs in the past, great friendly atmosphere, with a diverse group of people with different levels of experience.
My son has also been training in the kids class for the same period of time, he looks forward to every class and really enjoys the content and the manner in which it is delivered.
I would highly recommend the Watford GJJ centre to anyone wanting to get fit, learn useful self defence or just roll.
