We are a small animal, equine and farm practice in Northumberland, first established in 1897. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinarians and vet nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open six days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care.
To help keep us all safe, please do not attend the practice unless you have a pre-booked appointment, or have arranged to collect food/medication.

Services
Alnorthumbria Vets is a mixed practice that treats all species of domestic animals (and a few wild ones as well). Within the practice, the vets have developed special interests, so we have separate teams of vets dedicated to the care of farm animals, horses and small animals - dogs, cats and other small pets.
Here at Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group, we're very proud to have so many dedicated individuals working in our friendly practice. We are all passionate about animals and their well-being, from our veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses to our essential support staff. Highly trained and caring, each of us has a role to play in making this a special practice for you to visit with your pet.
We like to see our animals on long term medications every three to six months so that we can legally say they are under our care which is specified by the RCVS. To help keep us all safe, please do not attend the practice unless you have a pre-booked appointment, or have arranged to collect food/medication.
In the event of an emergency during our normal opening hours please call your local surgery and you will be advised what to do next. We also have specific information for farm and equine emergencies. If your call is during the night or at the weekend whilst our clinic is closed, you can still use your normal branch telephone number which will divert you to our out of hours call handling service.
After graduating from university with a degree in drama, Lauren joined Alnorthumbria as a trainee veterinary nurse in 2010. Since then Lauren made the move away from nursing down to our Ashington branch when it opened in 2012. She now heads the team as branch administrator at our Morpeth small animal branch and is enjoying the new challenges of her role.
