Like many during the lockdown, I decided to venture into the world of cycling. Being a novice here is somewhat disorientating; however, Simon and Rick at the Giant store were the perfect guides. They took time in explaining all the different configurations available to a newbie like me and then care in fitting the bike to my wants and needs, which they did using lasers and several other impressive devices. At that time, there were supply issues for bikes across the country, but Simon handled this all with ease and delivered the perfect bike to me on time. The bike itself is brilliant, beautifully

It hurts me to leave poor reviews as I have no wish to harm any business. Unfortunately however I had a poor experience of the shop today. I had a snapped spoke a couple of miles outside Guildford today. I walked into the city centre to catch the train only to find that there were bus replacements in place and I was not allowed to take the bike on the bus. I called the shop and spoke to what i believe to be the owner, he was very helpful and said to swing by and they would see if they could replace the spoke. I proceeded to walk for half an hour in cleats to get to the shop. When I arrived however

Recently took my old hardtail there to get a quote in order to make it roadworthy. To their credit they did a thorough job of giving the bike a good look over and listing everything that supposedly needed replaced / fixed. I was quite taken aback when the initial quote came to over 2 thirds of what I spent on the bike in the first place (the bike at the time of writing is 6 years old). I decided to take the bike to Hargroves cycles in Chichester where they have just successfully serviced the bike to full working order for just over £200. I am not a mechanic hence my reliance on bike shops to fix

Outstanding bike fit from Mitch - he is so knowledgeable about the mechanics of the body, and soft tissue/ligaments in particular. He spent ages getting it just right and was never in a rush. Bike now feels great. I cannot recommend the value that this £120 delivers more highly. You will not be disappointed! Simon

7 months old bike had a turn and caused lots of damage on the bike. The guy at Giant was very quick to tell us that my son "obviously" jumps with the bike as it had several scratches. He uses it to commute to school with... The Giant guy pretty much made it sound like he knows better and "he has been fixing bikes for over 10 years"... guess he meant we were lying! They then gave us a long list of things that needed to be done/replaced, coming to nearly £300 (the bike was £375 new). After a lot of complaining and begging they agreed to scrap the labour costs, but we weren't convinced so took the

Broke a couple of spokes and left it with them. Took them over a week just to get around to inspect it. They call to me tell me it'll be £40 for the replacement spokes and £60 labor, and it wouldn't be ready for another two weeks. I knew this was rubbish, as I had spoken to the wheel manufacturer and had already ordered the spokes by this point for £15. I said no thanks, got the spokes a day later and fixed it myself. A fraction of the time and a fraction of the cost. My advice; learn some basic bike mechanics and avoid being mercilessly ripped off.

Excellent service. I purchased a road bike through cyclescheme and after trawling through the web for all kinds of bike options I settled on the Defy 0 from the Giant Store in Guildford, I couldn't have been happier with the service. On collection of the bike they spent around 45minutes ensuring the fit and set up were correct. Unless you are proficient at these type of adjustments, I would always say purchase from a shop. There is no point spending a few hundred pounds and then not having it set up specifically for you body size. If you are in the Guildford area I would highly recommend the giant

This is not the only bike shop in Guildford to give good service but good service they certainly give. Simon (the boss) is ready to talk bikes and give advice without sales pressure. Ben (mechanic) did a great job on my new Talon Zero including fitting upgrades and making the little adjustments that make for a personal service. Communication was excellent and, as you would expect, the bike came to the pre-agreed price.
I had passed the shop so many times but now I'm glad I went in.
