J Alvey Pest Control is a hard working family business established by John Edward Alvey in 1979. John undertook an apprenticeship with a mole and rabbit catcher from Formby who used to travel across the region on his carrier bike. Having cut his teeth implementing the traditional methods of Pest Control, he got a job with the Local Authority and became a fully qualified Pest Control Officer.
After many years working for the Local Authority it became clear that he had outgrown the confines of working for a corporation and became self employed, establishing J Alvey Pest Control in 1979. In doing so he became a regional success and excelled using both the traditional and modern methods of Pest Control which has served residents and companies across the North West.

We phoned this company today as our daughter was moving house and when we arrived at the new house it was clear that. Highly recommend J Alvey Pest Control easy to book an appointment online & came out next day. After talking through. I phoned John Alvey PestControl Service and he came straight out to treat the large wasps nest in my back garden.
It is easy to underestimate the extent of ants nests and so tackling them without professional help is difficult and is often more expensive than getting them treated by us. To treat a nest all we need is to see the entrance to it or the ants feed trails through your house.
Treatments take approximately 20 minutes and after up to 5 days (to allow foraging ants to relay the treatment to the nest) the nest will be dead, if you see ants the following week after we have visited we will return for free ensure the treatment has been effective.

We offer a specialist mole trapping service covering Southport, Formby, Ormskirk and surrounding areas for the last 35 years. Using techniques passed through the generations we are experts in mole catching. On the face of it mole catching can appear quite straight forward however this is where the years of experience truly pay off as without it, moles can quickly become trap shy.
If you have Tree Bees at your property it will be most notable in nice weather and when the sun is shining on the area of the nest. Their favourite nesting places are in bird boxes, soffits, cavity walls and under the tiles next to your guttering where they build a nest containing up to 200 bees. They are not native and made their way over from mainland Europe about 10 years ago and in the last couple of years have established themselves up here.

So these guys are ace. We had a bee's nest in the eves of the house. Within 24 hours John was at our house and a few days later they had all left.
About 3 weeks later wasps moved in not 5 feet from where the bees decided was a good home. The same day as my phone call to John he was there at my house again. The best part was the second call out was free as you are covered for a full year.
I would highly recommend these guys. They are lovely, fast, efficient and fair. Will always use and never go anywhere else.

First used Mr. Alvey's services 28 years ago (I suspect it was Mr. Alvey senior!) and have used them a couple of times since for flea treatments.......if I find them on a pet, I get the house done by them, just to be sure.
