The Racing Centre

The Racing Centre is an independent charity (1107833) for stud, racing staff and the wider community - everyone is welcome. Based in the centre of Newmarket, we provide a community hub offering a varied fitness programme, comprehensive and bespoke event services and a fully functioning bar.

We have fantastic rooms to hire which have been designed to be incredibly flexible - offering varied spaces that truly meets your needs whether this is for an intimate gathering, business meeting, training or a small conference.We continue to thank local businesses and trainers for supporting the charity to benefit the Newmarket community.

Not only are we able to offer exciting exercise and gym classes, we have weekly children and family activities and many social occasions where all are welcome. All activities are open to the racing and wider community. Our team will ensure you get a warm reception.

RACEFIT is run by our friendly and welcoming Gym Manager, Ian Howell and his team. The gym offers state of the art equipment - all kindly sponsored by local trainers and The Racing Foundation. Memberships are the most cost-effective way to exercise with unlimited access to the facilities. All new members are offered a free induction session prior to being given a fob for instant gym access.

We are thrilled to offer all work riders and jockeys a private room to improve their riding technique, increase fitness and help with injury recovery and rehabilitation. This room was made possible by the kind donation from The Peter O'Sullevan Charitable Trust. Our in-house coach Ian Howell will assist you to develop a bespoke workout designed to meet your exact needs.

The Main Hall is a very large and flexible space and can be booked as a sports venue, wedding reception or christening party with a full indoor marquee to make it that much more special for your occasion. The hall can be dressed with a full or half marquee and is available with the use of a fully licensed bar as well as a commercial kitchen and a bouncy castle.
