Nam Pai Chuan
Our classes teach respect, politeness and having good manners and this helps foster and develop better behaviour overall. Our style originates from the Shaolin temples in northern and southern China, and is taught at centres around the world. We employ traditional training methods which have been used for centuries to teach Kung Fu to Shaolin monks, alongside more modern methods to help our students learn self-defence techniques and improve their fitness.
Services
Although Kung fu teaches students not to rely on physical strength to defend themselves, a good all round level of fitness and stamina is essential for performing techniques to a good standard. Our instructors use a combination of stretching, cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training, and body conditioning to help students continuously improve their overall fitness and flexibility.
Nam Pai Chuan Shaolin Kung Fu is a traditional martial art and rooted in Chinese culture. Central to our training is a system of respect. We ask students to respect the information they are given, the system they are taught, their instructor and the wellbeing of their training partners.

Our training takes place in classes of mixed ability and we encourage students to constantly change training partners to learn from each other and experience training with different people - from beginner to black belt.
Shaolin Kung Fu is a style of martial art which uses a broad range of self-defence techniques. All students start on building a solid foundation through various stance drills which helps strengthen the legs and core. We also incorporate the use of pad work which helps develop hand and eye coordination, understanding the use of force and technique.
Classes are typically around two hours long, and are usually of mixed ability, ages, and sexes. They begin with a warm up, which will include various cardiovascular exercises, followed by specific stretching and body conditioning. Training then moves onto learning kung fu techniques. Being a broad based style we incorporate a variety of different methods.
