Planning your own trek across Scotland? Do you want to escape those commercial holidays and the business of every day life? Maybe fancy a short weekend away from it all? The Craigieburn Guest House is situated between spectacular mountains and the Clyde. Conveniently located near the town center and with a splendid, unobstructed view over the river; this is the hub of Cowal which allows access to all wind directions in the west of Scotland.
Craigieburn Guest House and surroundings offer all kinds of entertainment and activities, for young and old. Whether you like a holiday full of culture and adventure or a quiet and relaxing holiday and just enjoying the nature and absolute silence, Craigieburn Guest House can provide it! But there is more!
Dunoon is the largest town on the Cowal Peninsula and is built around two bays, West Bay and East Bay (with East Bay being, confusingly, north of West Bay). Between them is a hilly nose of land sticking out into the estuary. This is the site of Dunoon Castle. This was once a major stronghold and was built some time around 1050.
The Kintyre Peninsula is well known and loved in the whole world. Many places and sites here are worth a visit, such as the famous Mull of Kintyre, the southern most tip of Kintyre, made immortal by the song of the same name by Paul McCartney. On a clear day, you can even see the coast of Ireland in the distance!

Basic but very comfortable. Friendly owners and a splendid breakfast on offer to kick start the day. Shared bathroom facilities might not suit everyone but what you will get is peace and quiet

Excellent B & B, spacious room, not en-suite but great bath robe to get you to and from the bath or shower. Excellent breakfast with a big pot of tea. Nice owners. Good position on edge of town center, garage and shop on door step and pub around the corner, with usable dart board if you move a table and 2 chairs, which they are happy for you to do.

Great bed and breakfast.

Room: spacious, homely, comfortable; with great bed (I like my sleep), and sink and great view.

Location: if you like travelling and like your highlands, islands, and scenery, this is a must. Great location, easy to find. Gorgeous.

Breakfast: WOW. Loved it. Quality and Quantity -- had both. Also the girlfriend had choice of fruits and cereals -- I went for full English.

Landlords: great bunch, very friendly; welcoming and talkative, but also understand that as soon as you are in you want a shower and a cup of tea.

We travelled by car -- plenty of spaces.
