Central Harrogate Osteopathy & Sports Injury Clinic
Do you get aches and pains - Sitting at your desk? - When Driving? - Lifting and handling? My aim is to get you pain free and back to your normal activities as quickly as possible. Where appropriate I will give you exercises and lifestyle advice to minimise the number of treatments you require and avoid your injury returning.

Osteopath David Annett has over 15 years experience. He was the team Osteopath for the British Modern Pentathlon team for 11 years and worked at the London Olympics and Manchester Commonwealth Games. The clinic specialises in sports injuries and has treated elite athletes from triathlon, modern pentathlon, squash, hockey, equestrian and athletics.
Services
Principal Osteopath David Annett established his Harrogate clinic in 2011 after working for over 10 years in a leading sports injury clinic in central London. He has a reputation for treating elite athletes and was the team Osteopath for the British Modern Pentathlon team for 11 years, helping them prepare for 3 Olympic Games.
Osteopathy is classed as primary care which means that you do not need a referral from a GP for treatment. Our training is also focussed on safe treatment, so if for any reason we feel that your presenting symptoms may require further investigation or are not appropriate for treatment we will refer you to the appropriate person.
The consultation begins with a full case history, including symptoms, onset and factors that affect them. There will also be some general medical questions to ensure you are safe to treat or may be linked to the current condition. After this you will be examined and usually asked to do some simple movements so that the movement of your joints can be observed.
David worked for 11 years with the Modern Pentathlon team supporting them through 3 Olympics campaigns. He also worked in the Medical Centre at the Manchester Commonwealth Games in 2002. In London David's clients included athletes, circus performers as well as west ends actors and dancers.

Since moving to Harrogate, David has been treating professional iron man triathletes, professional squash players, national level hockey players and dressage riders, as well as the many of the cycling fraternity.Osteopathy is not just for treating injuries. Osteopathy can improve your body's function, such as increasing the mobility of joints and lengthening muscles.
If your job required you to undertake physical tasks, such as lifting, pulling or pushing, your employer is required to undertake a risk assessment to ensure that the risk of injury is at an acceptable level. You should also have received Manual Handling training. Registered Ergonomics David Annett undertakes expert Manual Handling assessments and training and has over 20 years experience across different industries.

I would definitely recommend Dave to others, he’s a great osteopath and really takes time to get to know his patients issues. Dave treated me for lower back pain and tight back muscles. He expertly diagnosed the issues, provided advice on how I could avoid the issue and the exercises I could do. Dave relieved the back pain through manipulation and massage and my symptoms then improved.
Dave has also provided advice on my home office set up and given guidance on ways to improve my set up and posture. I can’t recommend Dave enough.

I can't recommend David enough! He has treat my bad back when I was in a lot of pain and could hardly walk! Within a few weeks I am now pain free and able to cycle and do Yoga again. David spends time asking about your issues and gives lots of advice to ensure you know what to avoid and what will help. I have used a few Chiropractors in Harrogate but will definitely use David instead if I have issues in the future.

I recently visited David after being involved in a bike accident where I was hit by a car. David's Prognosis, treatment and follow up correspondence was exceptional and having already had treatment from other practitioners
but to no avail I felt his knowledge, professionalism and experience meant he was able to truly understand my condition and suitable course of treatment. Thanks again

I had a work related back injury due to poor ergonomics. I went to see Dave Annett who provided me with a thorough consultation and extremely effective treatment plan. I was cured after just a few sessions. He also provided me with some preventive measures/advice so that I hopefully don’t have to see him again for the same problem!
Dave has skilled hands, abundance of medical knowledge and a great bedside manner. He has also treated my family and I would definelty use him again.

As a professional athlete I get regular treatment from David. He is extremely knowledgeable and helps me to keep my body healthy so I can continue to train hard. He treats everything from back pain to foot problems - always looking for the cause and treating the body as a whole like a good osteo should. I recommend him regularly to others and no one is ever disappointed.

David has been treating me for back pain ever since I slipped a disc 5 years ago, his treatment and advice has taught me to manage my injury, meaning that after months of pain I now suffer very little with it and when I do he gets me back up and running (literally) in a couple of visits.
