I put a ring in 2 weeks ago to have it dipped and resized, it was my nanas so very sentimental but not a great deal of value, I left a £20 deposit as was asked. I was phoned the week later to say that the shank of the ring had cracks and the person who does the resizing didn’t want to do it as it may move the diamonds as they may move. This was fine. My mother (who was a jeweller) said that I should get a new shank and band on it so we went in and the girl says she would check to price and come back to me (still the £20 deposit sat on the ring) I went in today to collect the ring and the quote

Place is a joke! Took my ring in to get 2 jewels replaced 20 deposit then to pay another 40! Was already giving a way better deal and reassurance with another place but some people said Dunbar was "great" ( deffo not) anyway the ring was sorted but she had messed a complete other news up and had it on its side I had my partner go in and mention it (she was ever so rude and made him uncomfortable) and the woman claimed she didn't it was already like that but I have pictures of before it was "fixed" by her. One friends took something in and they was told to go back the next week for it... she never

Just had a very humiliating and unpleasant experience. I've not heard great reviews about this place and my personal experience now confirms this. All was well until after I'd paid. I went to pick up the bag which I thought my purchase was in to find it empty. I looked confusingly at the assistant at which point she asked if I'd like it gift wrapped. Thinking this was a standard service in a jeweller's I said yes please. It wasn't and I was asked to make a charity donation, which I usually would have done in a heartbeat but I had absolutely no coins/cash on me, only card. Apologised for this and
