He played guitar in various groups, locally 'The Cheaters, 'The Dickins Faces', The Four R's and 'The Threepenny Piece' and in 1973 was 'spotted', by Keith Potger of the New Seekers fame, who was reforming 'The Springfields' later to be called 'Springfield Revival' and was offered the role of lead singer.
The big band music of one of the best known light orchestras whose name was synonymous with the TV programme 'Come Dancing'. The Joe Loss Orchestra has been in operation since 1930 and has never disbanded or reformed. When Joe Loss became to ill to perform at the end of the '80s, leadership was entrusted to Todd Miller who fronts the band today.
