The Principal/Osteopath is Peter Gray who holds a Masters Degree in Osteopathy, a Diploma in Sports Injuries/Massage and a postgraduate certificate in Acupuncture. At your first appointment a full case history will be taken, including detailed analysis of your pain and its progression, your medical history, any accidents, operations and current medication. For this reason the first appointment and first treatment usually takes more than an hour to complete. You need to be screened for any medical causes of your pain and we need to ensure that it is safe to offer you osteopathic treatment.
Osteopathy is a system of healthcare which focuses mainly on the musculoskeletal system. The musculoskeletal system comprises all of the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, interconnecting joints and connective tissue that make up the human frame. If you have pain anywhere in your body that is caused by any of these components, it is very likely that osteopathy can help in relieving your symptoms and achieving a good recovery.
There is much debate about what conditions can be effectively treated using osteopathy. This is due to the complexities involved in demonstrating scientific evidence through Randomised Controlled Trials. The UK evidence report provides a good summary of the evidence base for a range of conditions and can be found at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2841070/?report=abstract.

I've been to see Peter Gray a couple of times initially on recommendation of a friend.
He is professional and gets the job done.
His manipulations worked perfectly well for my back problems.
That's what I was looking for and I got exactly what I paid for.
Try him, his experience and knowledge speak volumes.

Peter is a nice guy and is academically knowledgeable however I cannot give him a recommendation for his manipulations (which is fundamental as an osteopath). Peter is an older gentleman and as such I do not think he has the requisite strength to provide effective treatment. As such I wanted to let others know this as it may be a valid factor for choosing your practitioner and I would like to have been made aware of this prior to booking my appointment and personally I will not be returning.

I had treatment with Peter for my reoccurring shoulder pains, I thought I had frozen shoulder, but turns out it was bad posture, after 3 sessions of treatments a combination of joint manipulating and acupuncture , I am very much pain free now. He also gave me a few exercise to do in order to correct my posture, great result for me.

I’ve had on/off back problems for many years and couple of weeks ago, while on holidays, it flared up again and my back seized up. Peter was able to see me quickly and I was really amazed by the results just after one session.
The first consultation was very thorough – he took notes of my history, health, etc. and gave me a full spine/back examination to ascertain the problem areas before proceeding to the treatment. From the beginning I felt I was in the hands of a true professional, someone that knew what he was doing and therefore felt relaxed throughout.
When I left I was walking completely

Having experienced the work of various osteopaths over the years I can confidently recommend the skills of Peter Gray. He is extremely able in his profession, locating the sources of pain and not just treating the symptoms. He treated a shoulder problem that had reduced me to a gibbering wreck with pain - it has not reoccurred. He continues to treat my very dodgy back when it flares up and gives me months of pain-free living, for which I am deeply grateful. He is,quite simply, one of the best osteopaths you will have have the good fortune to meet.

I saw Peter twice to help treat the back pain that I had suffered from for months. In our initial assessment Peter spent a great deal of time getting to the root of my problem and made me feel completely comfortable. I noticed a difference straight away after the first session and found the post-treatment exercises easy to do during the day and incredibly effective. Since my second session with Peter I have had no back pain and would not hesitate to recommend him.

I write this a year ago: Peter Gray has been a tremendous help in my recovery from Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). As a freelance computer professional I came to him with an array of complaints in my back, neck, arms, wrists and elbows. Before I saw Peter, I had read books on RSI and had massage and acupuncture which relieved some symptoms but the pain was still there despite reducing my working hours. In the first session, Peter took the time to do a thorough examination, which lead to a clear diagnosis and he treated me on the spot with a variety of techniques. Now, after only three sessions

Had a create experience with Peter. Booked a £35 massage and found it left me instantly relaxed. Peter discusses his treatment with you and advises in detail what he is doing. I felt comfortable throughout and wouldn't hesitate to return for a massage to relieve tension and stress in the upper body or for any more serious issues. I would thoroughly recommend Clapham Osteopath to anyone.
