Over the years we have taught many thousands of people to drive safely, responsibly and confidently. We are well known and respected in our local community having taught up to three generations of the same families.

Services
Holborn School of Motoring, or Scuola Guida Italiana as it is was first known was established in 1965 by two brothers, Valentino and Alessio Varani who have since sadly passed away. Their very first informal office was located in a cafe opposite St. Peter's Italian Church on Clerkenwell Road, this is where the instructors would meet their pupils over a cup of tea before the driving lesson.
Our instructors will design a personalised lesson plan for each individual pupil, giving them the skills needed to pass the practical driving test, whilst ensuring they become safe confident drivers. All our instructors are fully DVSA qualified and DBS checked, each with a minimum of ten years experience in driving tuition.
Holborn driving school, is the best of the best when it comes to learning how to drive my instructor Taj was amazing, we went at my pace and within no time at all I was up to speed and ready to take my test. I passed first time with 2 minors, Taj is by far the best instructor I have ever come across, I would not have passed without his patience, and years of experience.
You can apply for a provisional driving licence when you are 15 years and nine months old. However you can only start driving a car when you are 17. At 16 you can start riding a moped or a quad bike. The simplest, quickest and cheapest way to get a provisional licence is online at this link. Online applications cost 34.

I couldn't recommend the Holborn Driving School enough. Rob was a fantastic and supportive instructor, who supported me calmly and with patience throughout. He was encouraging, helping to build my confidence throughout the process. On the business side, he was always honest, responsive and trustworthy. If you're looking for a great driving school with integrity, go for this one.

I passed my driving test today with Taj at the Holborn School of Motoring he is brilliant and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to achieve their driving licence, I passed first time and that’s all thanks to Taj being patient encouraging and making sure I was confident and focused, he really doe’s deserve more stars forever grateful.

It has been very rewarding learning from Roberto! I would highly recommend him as a very knowledgeable instructor and as great company on the road!

It was a great experience learning from Richard and passing at 1st attempt. I had a foreign license that couldn’t be converted, and ended up feeling glad that I properly took lessons from Richard despite being an experienced driver of both automatic and manual cars. His lessons were critical for reinforcing UK driving rules & habits which are very different from North American ones, and made me a better driver.
Richard is (sarcastically) friendly and patient and really cares about his pupils, and the manager lady was very helpful to fit me into the waiting list after reopening when the other

Passed my test today!!! Thank you Taj for being patient when I wasn't. If you're trying to find the right instructor look no further. Taj has valuable years of experience and helped me get to test day and pass. If you're willing to put in the time and effort you will get a lot back. Today I was able to pass my driving test first time because of Taj! He always calmed my nerves and got my confidence to right where it needed to be. He understood my needs straight away and was always professional. Just all round an enjoyment to be in the car with! I’m actually going to miss our weekly session, we always had a laugh. My real name is Beth, Penumbra is my aka virtual name. Anyway, I just passed my Road Test today, on THE FIRST TRY and am thrilled. Richard was my instructor and he was great, I could not have passed without him. He is patient but firm about the details to make you a good/safe driver.
