Dilchad was founded in 1962 by the Choudhury family, who are pillars of the local Bengali community in the East End of London to this day. Serving staple Bengali dishes this very building was a home for students, factory workers and even politicians, who would come together under our roof for a 'taste and aroma of home'.
Over the years, Dilchad paved the way for Indian restaurants up and down the country to serve what is now associated with a traditional 'curry house'. Today, our menu pays homage to the flavours of the whole of Southeast Asia, a region that was a crossroads for Persian scholars, Afghan traders, Arab adventurers and British rulers.

The food was great, we ordered the most popular mains and vegan mains which didn’t lose any of the traditional Indian flavours. We had no problems with food other than the service which took very long. The time we waited between getting our starters and main was long but was worth the wait. We even got a free ice cream cake for my mums birthday
The exquisite designs made the whole vibe. The candle lit lights with the royal green colour palette designs, it was the perfect choice for my mother’s birthday.
Another problem we faced which isn’t entirely the restaurants fault was that the restaurant

This place literally saved our night.
After walking for about 45 min, to at least 7 different restaurants and having no luck because everything was booked, we stopped by and had a lovely meal at Dilchad.
I ordered a butter chicken and my friend the vegetarian Dahl, we shared rice and garlic naan. Everything was fresh and nice, service was impeccable and prices are not too bad.
A dinner for two with started, beer and main was £36.
Certainly a nice option around Liverpool Street St.

This restaurant has improved very rapidly. They recently (a month ago) went through a massive renovation. It looks very modern and trendy now. The food tastes really good and fantastic food presentation. Best Indian restaurant in this area so far. I had usual Indian classic, chicken tikka, sheekh kebab, chicken jalfrezi, plain rice, butter naan, aloo faliyan. For dessert I went for chocolate fondant. And to finish it off I went for Assam tea.

It is my local curry house and for some reason, over the year and half living in the neighborhood, I've never made it here. Today, I decided to do a quick takeaway for lunch. The menu is quite interesting, with all sorts of different curry names and since I am no expert of curry, I had to ask the server for recommendation. Quite frankly his first answer didn't help, because it was the usual "Everything is good". I always get a bit skeptical if a server tells me everything is tasty. After much probing, he recommended some tomato based curry that is not on the menu. My food came

Liverpool Street and the City are strange areas on the weekend for finding quality food; rather than potter off to Brick Lane we stumbled across this Indian restaurant down a side street near the station.
The main courses were fairly good, decent sized portions, reasonable flavour and heat, and fresh looking vegetables hinted at some quality to the food overall. The Indian draught beer was a tad warm and flat for my liking.
The overall experience just didn't set the world alight and I can't bring myself to score higher than 3/5. It was quiet, the service was pleasant enough, and

One of the best Indian's I've ever been to. Friendly service, interesting but familiar menu. Popadums were crisp and the lime pickle divine - a good sign for quality! Started with the Prawn Puree - prawns in sauce encased in deep-fried bread. Delicious! Lamb vindaloo was delicately flavoured and hot. The house white wine was quite sweet but slipped down fine. And all for £20 a piece - highly recommend.
