Sometime ago I bit into an Eccles cake and my tooth cracked. There was a pebble inside. I contacted Lacashure Eccles cakes Ltd, who told me that the currants are washed with pebbles and occasionaly one gets through. My dentist tried to fix the crack which cost £100, Ian Edwards reinbursed me, which I was grateful for.
For the following year I experienced pain. My dentist told me I needed to have the damaged tooth extracted. I was gutted. I emailed Mr. Edwards to tell him because I wanted him to know what a horrible experience this had been for me and how devastated I felt. He didn't respond!

I first came up against these delicious buttery products in the mid 80s we started to sell them along with with pickles and chutney from the same area . As a brummie I wasn't sure how to them but let me tell you they are to die for. I personally like them cold with a glass of milk, I'm now 52 yrs on, and I still buy them when ever I see them. Bought some tonight my local coop did not realise they sold them. 👍😁😋 Wife's not happy though I'm supposed to be on a diet
