We are an independent bike shop based in Fishponds, East Bristol - located next to the Cross Hands Public House, just off the Bristol to Bath Railway Path. Bike sales are focused on hybrid & commuter bikes and touring & audax bikes for the enthusiast. You'll find the expertise here to fix everything, from hard-worked commuter bikes to exotic road bikes, mountain bikes and tandems.
We stock the Ridgeback brand of bikes which are designed for the UK market - providing excellent commuter and touring bikes as well as tandems. We undertake restoration work (mostly during the winter months when we are less busy with everyday work). Most restorations are undertaken on Classic Lightweight racing bikes.

Services
Phone or email us to book an appointment (punctures and en-route mechanicals - just drop in!) Unlike most bike shops, we don't have fixed-price servicing - instead, bring your bike in on the pre-arranged day - we will either assess the work and give you a price there and then, or if we are busy, we will call you with an estimate prior to carrying out any work to ensure you are happy with us to proceed.
We stock a large range of parts and accessories and whilst it's not possible to keep everything in stock, we have access to lots of trade accounts, so we can nearly always get what you need. We stock lights, locks, mudguards, pannier racks, cycle luggage and other items. As with parts, if we don't have it in stock, we can almost certainly order items in for you quickly.
With a comfortable more upright riding position the Ridgeback range of hybrids put you in the perfect riding position. All the models are equipped with good quality components made by Shimano and there is an extensive range to suit every budget, starting from as little as 329 for the simple, stylish and versatile Comet.
We have teamed up with GCI (Green Commute Initiative) to help fund your new bike for work. We help you find a bicycle & accessories and GCI help you sort the rest. Green Commute Initiative is leading the industry with its cycle-to-work scheme with no limits. GCI scheme participants benefit from no 1,000 spending cap and no scheme exit fees.
We have restored many vintage bicycles - mainly classic lightweight racing models from the 1930's onwards. This is often requires lots of time and the skills of both our staff and outsourced work such as frame repair and spraying. This often means that the restoration cost outweighs the value of the bicycle - but the results are often quite stunning and very worthwhile.

Called in on way back from a ride to ask if they could sort out indexing on gears. Very helpful. Gave it a tweak straight away and booked in for a proper look the following week.
I was all ready to spend money replacing what I thought were worn out parts parts but Daniel said no need and got it running perfectly with what I had.

Just phoned up for a quick check to see if they had a cheap bike pump, excellent service on the phone, really helpful! Popped on down and had great service and some free advice. Will definitely make this my local bike shop as I'm back on 2 wheels. Great independent shop with great staff and a good range of products from more budget friendly to more professional bits of kit. Perfect first experience as a customer, enough that I felt the least I could do is leave a review. Thanks Bool's!
