I would highly recommend this bakery! My boyfriend and I stayed around the area this last month, and we were absolutely obsessed with their rugelachs! They come in chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and they are all to die for. They also make a great Babka. This bakery gets you in and out, and always has what you’re looking for. This place is worth your time!! ☺️

To start off, a very wide selection of cookies, pastries and sweet breads, as well as brown bread and some bagels. I got a large sampler of various cookies including a large one that is composed of two large cookies bonded and coated with dark chocolate and sliced and whole almonds. It's AMAZING. I also got a chocolate ruggelah and I have to say the one at Paradise Bakery across the street beats it. For my stash, 5.70 pounds. Nice counter staff as well. I'm dinking one just star just because of the ridiculous 10 pound minimum for debit cards.

This is a really fantastic bakery in Golders Green. The fresh baked bagels are quite possibly the best in London and worth the trek up the Northern Line. We also tried the strawberry filled donuts and they were a bit of a disappointment. First they were rather greasy (as donuts are, I know) but it soaked the bag they came in, in just a few minutes. They were also closer to fried dough than a traditional doughnut. We'll be back to try to savoury cheese bread that were just coming out of the oven as we were leaving.

This is a great bakery! I love love love their bagels, so good and so much better (in my opinion) than the ones from Brick Lane. Yes, a bit more expensive, but it's worth it - £2.30 for a salmon and cream cheese bagel, but the cream cheese is so good, and the bagels are really chewy/not overly sweet, just the way I like them. I haven't had a chance to try their other stuff, but I'm sure the quality would be similar. Rugelach looks really really good.

I absolutely love this place, and always make it a point to stop by anytime I'm in Golders Green. The staff is so helpful - whether it's patiently explaining what things are to me, or helping me figure out a gift for someone, they really do go above and beyond (even if the store is crowded).
As for the food, I can only speak for the bakery items - but the cookies are delicious year round, and the holiday items I've tried have all been good (their hamentaschen are my favourite in Golder's Green by far), and I can sometimes even fill the bagel void left in my stomach by my move

Brilliant little place. As an American ex-pat (and one of the Jewish persuasion) I feel I can say with some authority that these guys know bagels. The 2.30 you pay for a bagel with cream-cheese and lox is an absolute steal, especially for the value of each separate element. The only other thing I bought was rugelach, and let me say, I thought I had had good rugelach before now I know what that really tastes like. I can't wait to go back and get more!

Mmmh, the aroma of freshly baked goods is always messing with my intentions to simply buy a few bagels. In fact, all these deliciously looking baked goods are "smelling" at me and so I usually succumb to the temptation and buy half a dozen bagels, a challah bread and maybe a few other nibblies...
For the health-conscious amongst you, they also have whole-meal bagels nowadays, and I always get a few of them, just to make me feel a little better!

Whatever the previous two reviewers said. Carmelli smell delicious- anything food that smells THAT good before you eat it cannot disappoint. It's not pretentious either and stick to what they do best.
They make a large range of baked goods - bagels, cakes, pies, bread etc
I recommend their fresh sliced bread - freshness at it's bestest.

Walking past Carmelli is not easy, especially if you like a bagel. Its not just bagels they sell, they make their own bread and deserts. So combine all those smells and put them into one. Yep, we all know that feeling, you must go in, unless you are keeping to a vigorous regime, which at the moment, I am not, hence, I was there last night.
I do love a bagel and I have often paid Carmelli a visit, for breakfast, lunch and diner. There is a different bagel for every day of the month in there. I have actually heard that it is one of the most famous Jewsih bakeries in London. It definitely is busy

This is one of the most famous jewish bakeries in London. A family-run place, they sell all the baked goods you could ever want - great for breakfast, lunch, or late night snacks! A bagel with cream cheese is a classic, but there are lots of other choices of spreads. The little chocolate danish are great as well. Join the dozens of teenagers who hang out on the street outside Carmelli's every saturday night and see what all the fuss is about...

This is one of those bakeries it's really hard to pass by without buying something, it all looks so tasty. The pastries are my favourite, but they do cover a lot of them with what appears to be marmalade. You can pre-order cakes here for special occasions and like the rest of Golders Green have the best bread around. Go try something.
