You are welcome to call or email us for advice regarding any concerns you have about your eyes or vision. 77 Thoroughfare was converted by Ron Hurlock from residential to an ophthalmic opticians practice in 1971. Andrew Field bought the business in 1989 and employed Alex in 1992 for his training year. Alex continued to work with and learn from Andrew and Ron until their retirement and then took on the business.
We fit and supply all types of contact lenses at competitive prices. Feel free to contact us at orders@eyepractice.co.uk to request a quote for replacement lenses to your existing contact lens specification. Many types of free trial contact lenses are available, although you may be charged a fitting fee.

We have frames available from the following designers: Oakley, Ray Ban, Ralph Lauren, William Morris, Wolf, Stepper, Silhouette, Flexon and many others.
You may be entitled to a reduced cost sight test if you have a low income and are named on a valid NHS HC3 certificate for partial help with health costs. Having never worn glasses before and knew it was time to be checked out properly, I was booked in for an appointment today, eyes checked out under the Covid 19 rules all very clean No contact made with the optician, I was in a separate room all made very comfortable. I was able to choose my glasses at a very reasonable cost, unlike a past experience at specsavers, so thankyou for a great service under unusual times

Discovered by accident - a really thorough eye examination, and the only opticians that I have found who can actually manufacture the special size lenses needed for my target shooting glasses on the premises. Thus instead of waiting whilst the information was sent elsewhere and returned, they were ready practically next day.

I've been visiting here for the last 3 years. Couldn't recommended these guys high enough. Customer service is fantastic. The entire team are friendly, flexible, knowledgeable and thorough. The prices compare well with the High Street chains with the bonus of attentive and individual service.
