The reviews for this place were very bad but my experience was not so terrible especially for the price. My one issue is being told to hand over ID. I asked what if I did not have ID as not everyone has a passport or driving license and there was no notification that this was required while booking. The reception person was not happy with my question and became very angry with me. I handed over my driving license and suggested this requirement is notified on the booking or better still on the booking site. The first room was small and the radiator was not working so we were offered a 3 person room

It was filthy. Hadn't seen a duster or a hoover in weeks. It smelt awful n I'm not even sure if the sheets were clean ones. When I saw the duvet I wanted to run n never go back. The bathroom was disgusting & thank God I had my own water bottle because I would not have wanted to drink from the mugs provided.
I stayed here a year ago and it wasn't great, but since then they've rebranded & have been making improvements, so I thought it would be better this time. Unfortunately the improvements haven't been looked after, so it's just as bad, if not worse, than before.

Stayed at Elstree in Borehamwood what a dump . Was working nights so asked room not be cleaned. Every morning we returned had to wait 15 minutes to get into room. Changed room 3 times due to having to wait. First room toilet was blocked and bed was awfull lumpy and uncomfortable dust on tv stand was 3mm thick just after being cleaned.. Second room shower did not drain away. The 3rd room was was ok but bathroom was from 1950 lime green. Staff not very helpful would rather sleep in the car. It was cheap but would definitely not stay there again.

Pictures posted are a little deceiving - You don't actually stay in the house but a built-up extension on the back of the Wetherspoon pub on Shenley Road. The room we booked from the site and pictures was a treble with double bed and single bed, but on site we were told all trebles were single beds only. Room had a window with no view at all, just the back of a brick wall and as a result was incredibly stuffy and hot. Also, we expected budget but did not expect to have tea and coffee facilities with the water labelled "Not drinkable"! Shouldn't all hotels in this country offer drinkable water in

The worst place I have ever stayed. From the second we arrived there was a feeling of unease, the entrance was round the back of shops and pubs (and at night was not lit which meant walking through the pitch dark to get to the hotel) and when we checked in the customer service was unwelcoming and unprepared. There were three guys at the desk and we gave our check-in name and booking number, the guy who was checking us in took a call and gave us our keys said 'room 12' and carried on talking. But that's not the worst part... When we got to the room we weren't expecting a 5 star suite but we were

Lets start with the cons......
its a s h * t hole.
the room was filthy and stank of damp, the furniture was falling apart with a hole in the wardrobe door, item from previous guest still in wardrobe, shower and heating did not work and there was no wifi as stated.
I have used cleaner toilets and showers at festivals!
obviously left early and did not stay.
Also i have a have noticed one of the 4star reviews has been left by a member of staff!!
pros......
the ibis hotel is less than 5 mins walk away for when you realise this is a dive abd not worth the money
avoid like the plague....or stay

The room was dirty. The toilet was not secured to the floor. The very small shower was filthy and no plug in the sink. The headboard of the bed was very dusty and the duvet cover had what looked like a large coffee stain on it. The springs in the mattress had collapsed on one side. A hotel not to be recommended!

I wonder what the council is doing about this place, the place is not fit for a hotel, I arrived and the receptionist couldn’t even speak English, he was so rude and smelling of cigarette, the rooms were really disgusting and the beds were really in a bad state. The bathroom was really dirty and the rooms were really cold. Had booked for a woman and a newly born and I was scared of the safety of the baby

Although the reviews for the Elstree Inn have been very bad. We were pleased to see it wasn't as bad as thought. It is a bit of a rabbit warren, and long walks to the rooms. There are many stairs on different levels. You have to be able to walk as there is no lift. The staff were very helpful, and on the whole were very nice to us. It is a bit "rough and ready" but our room was clean, clean crisp sheets, and a clean en suite. The en suite although clean, the toilet seat was wobbly and the toilet didn't flush properly I think this is more of a bed & breakfast hotel.(without the breakfast) There

This is the worst hotel I've ever been to and most likely would ever go to. I am writing this review at 03:44 hrs in the morning cause I could not sleep it stinks!. The hotel should not be aloud to run.I regret my choice and this has taught me a great lesson not to book in a hurry. At the front of the hotel it says " All rooms ensuite " and yet there is a communal shower. Disgusting ! Not suitable for humans to stay !😬😬😬😬😬😬😬
