Poplar Pre School
Our pre-school accepts children between the ages of 2 and starting school age. We run morning and afternoon sessions. Our morning sessions are from 9am - 12pm and our afternoon sessions from 12pm - 3pm (the afternoon sessions incorporate lunch into them and therefore children need to bring a packed lunch if staying for an afternoon session).

Once a child is eligible to receive early years (term after their 3rd birthday) we will be looking for them to stay for an afternoon or afternoons and they can stay all day if you wish. We are a registered charity run by trustees with paid qualified staff and an events team who are volunteers and help with important fundraising.
Services
Dee has worked within Early Years for over 12 years and has NVQ level 3 Children's Care, Learning and Development and Senco Training. Tracy has worked within Early Years for over 20 years and has an NVQ Level 3 Children's Care and is our Child Protection Officer. Angela has a level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Early Years and has worked for over 6 years as a Nanny.
Poplar Pre-School (CIO) is a Charity run pre-school, managed by Trustees. The current Trustees are Denise Ellis, Jenny Dharmalingam, Ling Yip, Lynne Davies and Teresa Hatfull (photos displayed within the Pre-School) - they have all been DBS (Data Barring Service) checked. The Trustees are responsible for the overall management and smooth running of the pre-school.
Every February and for the whole of February you can apply for a place at Poplar Pre-school for the following September intake (we take children on from the age of 2 1/2) by completing an online application form (paper copy will be also available at that date). We take children from the age of 2 1/2 with the main intake in September and a smaller intake in the following January.
Poplar pre-school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will endeavour to keep the information as up to date as possible. Parents/Carers can obtain a full copy of our current version, which is held in our office, please ask or Contact Us.
Children make progress at their own rate and we provide opportunities for children to be successful when they are ready. Planning is tailored to the unique child and we practise reflective observation on the environment in order for children to achieve maximum progress when they are ready to do so.
