In 1974 Mary Robinson founded Supreme School of Motoring. For many years Mary delivered quality driving lessons within Maldon and surrounding areas. In 1987 her son Pete qualified as a driving instructor, quickly followed by her daughter Kay, making this a unique family driving school. After many years service, in 2007 Mary stepped aside and Pete took the reigns of one of the most respected driving schools in the area.
We have been offering free driving courses to year 12 students in schools and colleges throughout Essex since 1990, working closely with local authorities including Essex Road Safety. Our courses are offered with no age restriction or the need for a provisional licence. Each session Is delivered in a classroom environment, the off road driving element is completed within the school grounds.
We have been helping people realise their dream of becoming an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) by offering ADI TRAINING and instructor placement in Essex for over 40 years. SUPREME is a successful family run business, with an outstanding reputation in both instructor training and teaching learner drivers.
Using our experience, together with the latest coaching methods, structured lessons and unique 'mock' tests, we achieve a first time pass rate higher than the national average, which means you save time and money in achieving your goal. We work hard to keep our prices competitive and they vary from region to region.
Whether or not you need the BE entitlement to legally tow a trailer on the road depends on factors such as when you passed your car driving test and what combination of car and trailer you want to drive. Whether you are wanting to tow a trailer for work or pleasure purposes, you may need to take the trailer towing test.

I would like to absolutely recommend Mark P as a driving instructor, he has taught me a skill I could never forget, Mark’s professionalism is the sole reason I passed today with only one minor. Not only is mark an exceptional Instructor but ensures each lesson is fun and enjoyable. I have just passed with 1 minor on my driving test. My instructor was Chris Diggons, he was an amazing instructor as he understood me and how i needed to be taught. Overall Chris made me feel relaxed within the car over all my driving lesson and made sure that if mistakes where made that they where spoken about and corrected. I would 100% recommend Chris to anyone looking for a great instructor.

Had a great time learning how to drive with David Lucy. Very patient were comes to learning. Happy to explain and answer any questions you might have. Very supportive all the way. I would recommend to foreigners as he made it super easy for myself considering English is not my first language! He was very patient with explaining things that I could understand perfectly. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you

Supreme was a really good choice for me when learning to drive. I passed today on my first official driving test even though I wasn’t sure I could! The instructor I had for all of my driving lessons was kind and patient throughout my journey, as were the instructors who did a mock test with me. Would definitely recommend Supreme to anyone who wants to learn!

I had my driving lessons from Mark. He is not only a wonderful teacher but a very friendly person with positive attitude. If not taught by him, I would not have passed my test in first attempt. Very much grateful for his efforts. Especially, the way I was made confident enough by words of appreciation and instant corrections.
