Peter Evans Funeral Directors was founded in 1963 by Peter Evans or "Peter Plashett" as he was better known, after the area he lived in all his life. After serving his apprenticeship with the local carpenter and funeral director, he started out on his own, carrying out small carpentry jobs with only a tool bag and a push bike.
The new premises has been built to all the modern building regulations which means it has full disabled access and facilities, there is a comfortable and homely lounge area, a private viewing room for people who would like to spend time their loved one and our office, reception and modern work areas are also all located on the same site.
At Peter Evans Funeral Directors our aim is to reduce as much of the worry and stress that comes with organising a funeral as we can. We realise that one of the biggest worries for people is the expense a funeral can bring with it. To help with this, we offer pre-paid funeral plans which are provided by Golden Charter.
If the person has been ill for some time and the death was relatively expected, then the first thing you should do is contact their GP (or the on-call doctor if out of surgery hours). The doctor will then visit you as soon as possible to certify the death. Once this has been done you can contact us at any time of the day or night and we will discuss the various options available to you e.g.
