Gwenoldy (Swallows' Rest in Welsh) is a luxurious cottage, converted from an 18th century stone-built barn. Its setting is spectacular, with glorious views across a secluded valley. We are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and enjoy a wonderfully peaceful lifestyle. Gwenoldy offers every comfort for up to four people, from a woodburning stove to free wifi (not superfast, but fine for email and web-surfing).
Snowdonia, Chester and the North Wales beaches are close at hand, and local amenities include excellent pubs serving good food, a crafts and antique centre with a popular restaurant, and many country shops and sporting venues.

Services
Gwenoldy sits at right angles to the house and was converted in 2004 from the stable and forge which once served the farm. Opposite the cottage is the old bakehouse, with its original wood-fired bread oven, and the stone-built pigsties, now used by us for storing logs and by swallows for their annual breeding visits.
If you have ever struggled with a single blunt knife in the kitchen of a holiday cottage and forgotten to take your own bottle-opener, you will love our dining kitchen. It really is a home from home, equipped with everything you may need if you can resist the lure of food in our local pubs. There is a full-size gas cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and fridge freezer to make your life easy.
A comfortable sofa and armchairs make for cosy evenings benefiting from the central heating or woodburning stove. For your entertainment there is a large flatscreen TV with all Freeview channels and HDMI sockets, DVD and video players, an audio/CD system and an ipod/iphone docking station with speakers.
Opposite the cottage is a renovated Grade II listed bakehouse with a woodburning bread oven. Here we display tourist information for North Wales and store garden furniture, a barbecue and some outdoor games for your use. Children will enjoy using the swing (one open seat, one enclosed seat) and the football goals in the field beyond the cottage garden.
Gwenoldy (Swallows' Rest) is situated a kilometre of steep hill away from the nearest public transport on the A541 Mold to Denbigh road. The cottage affords marvellous views and is situated in gently undulating farming country, with the seasonal sounds of lambs and cattle, together with birdsong, always evident.
