The Goldfinger Scheme, also known as Goldfinger Corporate Tax, was a tax avoidance scheme devised and promoted by Achilles Products Ltd and a related firm, Redbox Tax Associates LLP. It involved the attempted extraction of company profits, "tax free", in a scheme that involved the purchase and sale of gold bullion.
The UK government set up the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) in 1994. EIS are investment schemes designed to encourage investment in small or medium sized companies. They do this by offering tax reliefs to individual investors who buy new shares in a company. The Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) is much newer than EIS, having been set up in 2012.
